Arms Trade Register would say just what you said but other defence websites would say differently.Also look for the BD BTR-80 Maintanence Plant thread or news report, the Speaker from the russian side says we have over 600 BTRs.

BTR-80 was introduced in the late 80s... and BTR-82A was first revealed to public in 2009-10 (and costs over 1.6 million $)...as for per unit cost.. thts for the demilitarised version of BTR-80... the numbers alone are ridiculous...also according to SIPRI 80 BTR-80s including ambulances,ARV and possibly BTR-80A IFVs were delivered from russia... also do you think Bangladesh army can afford over 2300+ ... more on order (with no reliable sources except a few unreliable blogs) APCs,IFVs ... while operating just 40+ modern MBTs? with a budget of 1+ billion... which is now increased to 1.87 billion $ .... does tht even make sense buddy?

1. BD army has 3,50,000 personnel which is not a big number so maintenance cost is not high.
2. BTR82A costs around $1.3million.
3. BD army will have around 2,300 in 2020 year time, so count more 7 years.
4. BD has made long term plan of goal 2030. so more tanks on the way.
