Beauty and tourism is not much use when you can't visit the damn place, isn't it?

Though there are lots of Kashmiris who are sick of the separatists and want them to shut up and let people get on with their lives. Refer to a recent incident where a mob of Kashmiri traders thrashed a group of separatists who were going to hold a protest march.

In the net balance, the central government has given a LOT to Kashmir, and what has been gained in return is much much less. And no smarta$$ comments to the effect of: "why don't you give it up then". We aren't going to give it up for a variety of reasons which have been discussed to death in a hundred places.

There were HR violations at the first phase of insurgency, at present it's negligible considering every single thing happening in Kashmir is put to microscope. Recently amnesty been allowed to Kashmir.

The deaths are regrettable but both IA, civilians and insurgents are getting killed. This is the bad but unavoidable part of war.

But the question remains freedom from what? They are more free than other indian citizens!

See, we have had a partition once. People who wanted to move have moved. Those who wanted to stay have stayed. There is no way we will have another partition of India. Anyone who feels very strongly for the Kashmiris is welcome to come and try their hand at taking it.

And thanks for your concern, you might not know in this midst of all the bullshit that India has lifted almost 400 million (some sources say 400+) people out of poverty since the 1990s. We are on track to lift another 400 million people out in another 20 years. We don't need to give up Kashmir to solve any poverty issues.

And if any Kashmiris do not want to be part of this growth and enjoy the fruits of the growing economy, they are free to move to wherever they wish. The land isn't negotiable.

and who is stopping them from saying that???? Since you already know what make them feel proud please ask them to simply shift to a way more Azaad country right in their west or even more azaad country to their east... As far as India is concerned then only Indians are welcome with foreigners on valid visa......Rest all should leave as soon as possible.....

Secondly as said above if any one has lot of sympathy with Kashmiri's then they can try their luck...Just giving empty senseless advice over the internet is not going to work

In all this hoopla that Pakistanis make about Kashmir being a 'disputed region under UN', I want to know what possessed them to give away a large part of it to China? They keep talking about Plebiscite, plebiscite, UN, UN, UN - will they ask their deeper than ocean friend to give up the Chinese held land for plebiscite?

Pakistanis: it is best for everybody involved if we agree to LOC as International border, keep aside this nonsense issue. We can ask for P-O-K too, remember. Wouldn't we just love the access to central Asia, and of course the fact that you won't share a border with China anymore! But still the Indian position is for status quo - all we're asking for is status quo and resolution. This quite accurately shows who is the bully and who is aggressive here.
