Bangladesh Navy Submarines

The boys at Diego Garcia won't be pleased :coffee:

Why will the Yankees cry about it. Since when did they start calling themselves Indians :blah:

man stop bashing BD

ON TOPIC best of luck for your modernization

This is very Unfair. If I say good about Bangladesh I am bashing them. If I say truth about Bangladesh I am bashing them.

What have I said wrong. In a thread from Dreamland I only added one more Bangladeshi Dream :p

during the mean time (2019)
BD navy should get agosta70 from Pakistan navy

at a very margin price.for that KSEW should construct 1 more agosta90b for PN

agosta70 can serve as a training as well as a good platform.untill you guys get chinese or german sub in 2019

Does Pakistan sell everything on margin price. OR are you the Chairman of KSEW?

How are the Qing class submarines? heard they are maaaad quiet.

They are quiet, made in China so why dont BN go for these. Heard this sub snuck up on a Nimitz class ac.

Well, subs are expensive and requires tons of training and experience. They really are no playthings. There's still time, no need to rush.

Then, we can troll on the seas

It is not unknown India takes exception to any acquisitions or increases that it feels could pose some problem. For instance, Rajiv Gandhi was quite annoyed with Ershad when the second N Bengal Div was raised. They questioned the need of the Paracommandos (special forces). Any offensive eqpt disturbs them. Somehow we have acquired a regt of MBT-2000 which was really approved by the last CTG. China has been offering us subs with bases to be constructed by them free of cost. But the govt must have guts to accept these.

@UKBengali

by 2030 bangladesh GDP would be around 764billions USD if grow on average 7% till 2030..may be 70billions usd even more

and if 3% of gdp is termed as bangladesh defence budget would be 23-24billions

even Nuclear submarine and aircraft are possible than

Exactly.

BD is aiming for conventional military parity with Pakistan by 2030.

If India does not like it, who cares.

India is a sponsor of terrorism and a regional bully, working hard to becoming a inter-regional bully (it has started spreading its mischief to the south China sea now).

It is opposed to neighbours having sufficient military capabilities to deter Indian aggression.

However India's neighbours/victims including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, the Maldives, Bhutan must all aspire to have sufficient deterrence to prevent Indian aggression.

The intelligence services of these countries must also work to combat Indian-sponsored terrorism in these countries.

Sri Lanka has already crushed the LTTE terrorists which India backed for decades.

India is hostile to Bangladesh and to Bengalis in general (be they Muslim or even Hindu e.g. one Indian troll on another thread insulted India's 90 million Bengalis by saying Bengalis are not a martial race), and wishes for a subservient and weak Bangladesh.

However India is upset that Bangladesh continues to grow stronger and stronger.

The aforementioned Rajiv Gandhi is now dead, having been killed by fellow Indians.

Those particular Indians were LTTE supporters, the LTTE being a terrorist organization India cultivated and sponsored only for its supporters to kill Rajiv Gandhi.

If Bangladesh really wants protection against Indian aggression, all they have to do is ask Pakistan to have a DEFENCE PACT. As the two countries were part of the same country, their Federation would be quite natural and understandable. Once such pact is formed, India will not dare mess with BD because it will have to deal with Pakistan as well as Bangladesh on a Western as well as Eastern front. Problem solved. :D

Bangladesh is able to defend itself.

I do not think India wants to invade or annex us, but merely to intimidate us. However they are unable to do that and cannot even force us to open up our country for their much-needed transit to the north east.

Fundamentally most Bangladeshis would like to have good relations with India and optimal trade.

we are already thinking of it. But India is yet far way from accomplishing it's ambition. Again, China is a good ally of us. Not to mention, we can get weapons from both Russia and US. Our army is of 3 million. India won't be able to go for a ambition of annexation as some Indians are talking now a days, cause it will need them to shift extra 500 thousand soldiers towards Bihar and Kolkata which is impractical and impossible. They are just threatened as they got almost no defence against Bangladesh. Growing Bangladesh will hurt them. This is something they never want.

sir those who does not want it will object to it, its their job , but it is the Bangladeshi people & the Bangladesh Army who has to take the decision & if Bangladesh is really resolute & serious to be a militarily strong nation then nobody can stop it. the U.S failed to stop North Korea from becoming a military & nuclear power, China failed to stop South Korea from becoming a strong conventional military power & a "green water navy", India & U.S combined failed to stop Pakistan from becoming a strong military & nuclear power with the 7th largest standing army in the world , U.S , Israel & GCC combined failed to stop Iran from becoming a strong military as well as soon to be nuclear power, Europe failed to stop Turkey from becoming a military & naval power , sir' think about it
china & the U.S are each 3 times the size of India while Bangladesh is 19,000 sq mi = 49,000 sq km larger then south Korea & 11,000 sq mi = 25,000 sq km larger then north Korea so if Bangladesh wants to be a military power & is serious & resolute about it, then nobody can stop it, not even India ! if it could have then there would have never been a Shaheed President Zia-ur-Raman in the first place.
