Bangladesh least visited country by tourist!? :0

. .
Bangladesh should reign in the atrocities of radicals ( I am sure they are on to it already ).
Those twats are severely tarnishing BD's image worldwide....they must be sterilized.

.
South Asia in general is not a major tourists destination.
That'll improve as your country develops.

.
Watch this video. I am shocked.

The train photo is misleading as it happens only ones when A large gathering of Muslims gather in Tongi, Largest gathering after Hajj.

There is practically zero tourist friendly infrastructure in BD. We have beach where drinking and bikini are banned. You will probably understand why they don't come.

However Visit the thorntree lonelyplanet forum and you will know by reading tourist accounts that we are safer cleaner nation than our neighbors

. . .
One of the major reasons that tourists do not visit BD is the poor infrastructure.
As the infrastructure develops to a comparable level to rest of S Asia then many more tourists will come.

As already mentioned, tourist potential will always be limited in BD due to social customs against alcohol and clothing.

Lack of tourism is Bangladesh is due to its near homogeneous topography, lack of places of religious importance, or massive architectural wonders. I do not think that Bangladesh would every get significant number of tourists because of these limitations.

India also get tourists only in Himalayan region ,Western Ghats and beaches, and pilgrim and architectural circuit. Places like Haryana which are devoid of geo these do not get many tourists.

Bangladesh attracts a different breed of Tourists. Those who like to know people, live among them and like to take a lot of portraits consider it a heaven. With the advancement of Photography and Sharing platforms we will be able to attract a lot of such kinds of tourists. The number was rising actually until IsIs motherfckers fcked everything up.

I dont think there is much to see in BD

We have four sea beaches (Cox's Bazar, Saint martin, Kuakata and potenga). Except Potenga other sea beaches are blue beaches. Most blue is Saint Martin. bluish green is Kuakata, skyblue is cox's Bazar.

We have 60% of Sunderbans (40% are in India)

We have tea gardens, water falls in Sylhet

We have mountains, lush green, water falls in Chittagong hill tracts

We have a deer island called Nijhum Dweep. It has thousand of deers.

We have famous religious sites for Hindus and Muslims.

The sub continent maybe, But as far as South Asia goes both Sri Lanka and the Maldives are top tourist destinations in the world, Especially from Europe East Asia and North America

Even India attracts some 8 million tourists per annum

I think it is due to its homogenious nature. It doesnt have alot of geographical variety or have have cities that are worth visitng for longer times. It has one language , one culture kind of too one dimensional.

Btw this is not in pure numbers. Its least visited relative to its population.

I dont think you can call them mountains. They are about 2500-3000 feet high.
