OK, BD has confirmed that it will both be buying the Sputnik vaccine and also producing it locally. Doses brought and produced should run into the 10s of millions just this year alone.

As far as Chinese vaccine is concerned, BD seems to have changed its mind and will procure it with China giving 600,000 as a gift initially. It probably is not a good idea to get the lowest efficacy vaccine available but at least it seems BD will be giving it out in far less doses than the Russian and UK AstraZeneca vaccines both of which have higher efficacy.

More like Russian will supply the seed, same here like in Indonesia. State owned Biofarma is also producing Sinovac vaccine but the seed will come directly from China, so I dont think Bangladesh can produce as much as they want, it will still depend on Russian seed supply.

Russia has promised 25 million in total(direct supply and co-production) this year and I think 30 million next year.
India in total will give 30 million of the AstraZeneca vaccine this year.
Think that is a good number for BD and enough to vaccinate all at real risk of needing hospital treatment if they caught the virus.

BD also wants to locally produce AstraZeneca vaccine as well from either seed or pre-packaged materials and it will be good if that can go ahead, as it takes India out of the vaccine supply chain.

This was offered way back in 2020. It's not enshrined in some kind of law that BD can't take different vaccines from different countries but short-sighted policy has lead us to this situation.
There would be a shortage in vaccines , how hard is that to predict ?

However when we paid advance money,was it a preondition that if covid 19 will be uncontrolled in India, then India can have the right to stop exporting?

When health is the case then India is just commiting crime. If you can not supply why do you took the responsibility? Or non Indian's life are not so important that India got the right to play?

But GoB actually learnt a necessary lesson. And still if they again depend on India , they will lost the right to remain in power.

Yes they will as the pandemic will be brought under control in 2-3 months one way or another. Either they follow SOPs like BD doing or the virus will kill millions of the most vulnerable before it burns out.

BD is not that desperate as it still has 3 million of the AstraZeneca vaccine in stock - enough till mid-May.
Sputnik is coming in millions of doses by then and BD will set up its own production as well.

India should never have been relied upon and anyway all countries in the same situation are doing similar ban on exports.

In fact what India has done is great for BD as it has forced the government to stop relying on India and start to become more self-sufficient. This is great news for the BD vaccine as well which is in development.

India’s SII is now no longer seen as a reliable supplier anywhere in the world. Africa will now get the J&J vaccine from production plant in S Africa as an example in place of their promised AstraZeneca supplies from Covax.

Modi due to his mishandling of the pandemic was forced to ban exports to save his leadership, but in return has terminally ruined a great Indian company.

Really good news as regards BD virus situation today.

BD is now at 3300 new cases a day on a 7 day average, down from 7000 just 2 weeks ago.

Like I say BD is in a very good situation now as it has got the virus back in its box, has an agreement for quick delivery of millions of doses of the Sputnik vaccine from Russia and assistance to set up local production in BD this year.

As for AstraZeneca jab, stock will run out in 2 weeks at current rates of vaccination. Even then BD can give the 2nd dose of this vaccine 12 weeks apart and so has plenty of time to get further supplies when it comes to giving the 2nd dose to complete the vaccination.
