BD has the virus under control and it has 3 million of AstraZeneca vaccine in stock still to give out. Remember that jab gives high immunity with one jab and the 2nd can be given 12 weeks later.

Not only is the efficacy of this vaccine lower but one jab is almost useless and so you would get less efficacy from two of these jabs 3-4 weeks apart than one AstraZeneca!

As BD has the option to buy the much higher efficacy Russian Sputnik jab then it makes sense for BD to buy that one and there is even talk of producing it locally in BD.

Much as I appreciate China's generous offer, I would stay away from China's Sinopharm vaccine due to low relative efficacy.

BD already has the AstraZeneca vaccine and just also needs to procure maybe the Sputnik vaccine which is also very effective.

Once China has developed a better vaccine, then sure BD should procure them if available.

yes i read the link. There is yet no evidence of vaccine failing to protect from serious illness, more studies is needed and we will come to know in coming weeks/months

its a RNA virus, every time it replicates some error creeps in its genome , and if the error is stable its called a mutation. The virus is just running its natural cause. Thats why even if the persion is vaccinated and got infected with mild symptoms should mask up and maintain social distance so that the mutated form if any, does not get further transmitted on. Unless everyone is vaccinated and adhere to strict isolation protocol (like they did in China initially) all around the world there will be no end.

Not much people trust sputnik V. Chinese scientific technology are much better than Russian plus Chinese are flush with cash. So they can hire more manpower, more expensive scientific study can be conducted to prove its effect.
