Something tells me you aren't that different from the ones you try to differentiate.

Well I am not insecure about Bangladesh's coming into being, its existence or even its growth but ya I am indifferent towards the last two.

Back to topic, yes it will be nice to see bangladesh prosper, whether it remains friendly to India or not. They have the right to chart their own course. It will be good for the whole south asia. Also we have many things to learn from bangladesh, and replicate their success in certain fields.

I like the video. I respect Bangladesh.

BUT, you must know Bangladesh is facing servere problems in the future.

The population is extremenly high for such a small country

and by 2050 Bangladesh will almost be under sea cos of global warming.

These problems are real and need to be stopped, otherwise this vision won't exist, its true, i am not being hateful, i don't want it to happen, but the way things are looking it will happen.

So everyone go Green, save Bangladesh, Save the Planet and save the future otherwise face the consequences

I think, Pakistan also needs to control its population. You may have big land but small amount of fertile lands because of mountainous, desert areas etc.

We are badly suffering for our over population. I think prices of lands, local goods, and local foods would be cheaper here if we had small population. And obviously, less traffic jam, less pollutions, crime and corruptions.

Guys we need to think about the future, and I know that are political system is not good.
But yet don't let yourself go down like that, one day it will happen.. the awami will go down.

Astagfirullah!!! I didn't see 74 but I heard form elderly that people and animal shared food from dustbin. If this picture is true then we are in big trouble. May Allah bless Bangladeshi from this Zalim Awami munafiqs.

Not that AL is the only munafiq. BNP and other parties are equally munafiq. BNP leader cries only for her Cantonment house. She does not go to the Parliament to criticize govt for not doing enough.

The photograph idune has sent does not say that a man is sharing garbage food with crows. Rather, he is collecting part of garbage for recycling. I am only back today from Dhaka. That city is full of dusts, papers. raw garbage and what not. It may be uncleanest city in the entire world. Its roads lack a proper drainage system and a modern transport/communication system.

Lacking a city railway transport system. Rickshaw and 3-wheelers are the two most popular mode of transport. However, since Dhaka people do not know anything better, they do not really complain about the lack of a modern transport system.

Good to see you back, If I knew you were in dhaka then we could have met for a treat or something.
Anyways I would agree that dhaka might not be clean but certainly not the dirtiest . I have traveled lots of other cities around the world but somehow they lack the chaos and madness of Dhaka. There is no rule in Dhaka and that is what I enjoy the most. Other cities are way too disciplined for me.
The reason for dusts that you mentioned are because of the lack of trees. There should be more greenery such as in Chittagong, sylhet but unfortunately urban planners are busy making proposals.

About the MRT well its not that we don't complain but the Government are way too busy doing unnecessary stuffs other than what matters the most. Also after the earthquake in Japan I highly doubt if the MRT will ever materialize as they were one of the probable financiers. The only new addition that I can see is the Expressway the construction of which has begun.
I'll leave out BNP AL as after years of deception I have learned it is up to the common people to change the country.
Not them.

People who are rich and have their own transport do not feel that a MRT is needed for all types of people, rich, middle class or poor. A snowfall in a cold country is really enjoyable when it is seen from a warmed inside of a house while eating ice cream. Similarly, people with their own vehicles can enjoy the dust and rickshaw jam while watcing through the window glass.

A City's living condition can be better when a mass transit system is available for every body. Democracy is not all about election and voting. A democracy is not perfect when a poor person does not have the option to use a mass transit/railway system. Unavailability of a cheap and safe transport takes away his fundamental right as a citizen. A bus ride is cheap, but it is too packed and too unsafe.

I believe, a metro railway will make the city beautiful, only because it will cause a fall in the number of rickshaws. Rickshaws are the main cause of the present traffic jam. So, I am hoping a twin construction of expressway and a railway will relieve Dhaka of the present traffic pressure. Another thing the govt should do is to widen the footpaths, most of which are broken. I walked a lot and found my shoes are unable to take anymore the torture given by all those broken and uneven footpaths.
