Bangladesh gets its first Hindu Chief Justice

Establishing hindu communalism and hindu chauvinism is indian definition of "secularism". Bangladeshis do not give a damm to indian hindu communal and chauvinist view. All happening in Bangladesh under gun terror of india installed Awami League. So Bangladeshis (discounting few illegal indians living in Bangladesh and posing as Bangladeshi) can not agree or celebrate indian appetite for hindu communal and fundamentalist agenda.
You really shut me up with your post here.

Congratulations, regardless of religion whether Muslim, Jewish, Christian or Hindo, one should be allowed to hold a post indiscriminately.

.
what does it say ?
It says , hindu "judge" Surendra Kumar Sinha offered promotion (bribe) to lower ranking judge in exchange for judgement of his choice - hindu fundamentalist agenda (instructing other court what to do).

good to know you support hindu fundamentalism as indians package it.

Your logic is, Since Bangladesh was restored to be secular by the 2010 Bangladesh Supreme court order, hence it will be (the ONLY??) livable place for everyone to live equally.
By that logic, since India has been Secular(Constitutionally) since 1947, everyone has been living there equally since 1947 at least.

If you're alluding that some BJP and RSS are communal & some of their people are creating disturbances based on religion, Bangladesh has had communal incidents as recent as 2013 when BAL was in power. Also, since Bangladesh is a democracy BNP(the party on the right) will also come back to power in the future, hence we might possibly see similar communal incidents.

However, now because Bangladesh is secular and does not have draconian laws for blasphemy and apostasy, the minority Bangladeshi citizens(including atheists) have protection & should not have much to fear from the Bangladesh government.

I congratulate Bangladesh for it's progressive constitution and laws!, which are largely catching up since 2010 with Indian laws existing since 1947. :-)

[Btw, Islam is still a state religion of Bangladesh, not sure what that means though]

Secularism(Bengali:ধর্ম নিরপেক্ষতা) is one of the four fundamental principles according to the originalConstitution of Bangladeshin 1972. Thesecularismprinciple was removed from the constitution in 1977 byZiaur Rahmanand declaredIslamas the state religion. In 2010,Bangladesh Supreme Courtrestoredsecularismas one of the basic tenets of the Constitution[1]but also kept Islam as the state religion.[2]Above 80% of the total population of Bangladesh are Muslims and the rests are Hindus, Buddists, Christians and others.[3]People of Bangladesh observes various secular festivals in different times throughout the years.

So the 47 misake was corrected in 71 but later another one sided with the perpetrators again. And with a Muslim agenda anyone can deceive people easily. Later no one can change the state religion to secularism as people will revolt against whomever try to do that. BNP is equivalent to BJP and Jamat is RSS. Though jamat has taken over BNP totally but as BJP is trying to hold everything in control BNP will do the same. And new people of BD believe in secularism and Bangladeshi nationalism from core.

Despite the country ceasing to be a secular state constitutionally, secularism has been practiced in the region ofBengalsince ancient times. In fact, secularism in the region as a whole, is in many ways different from that ofWesternversions that assert completeseparation of church and state. The ethos of secularism in South Asia is fundamentally the freedom of individuals to practice the faith he or she desires without being subject to any form of state or communal discrimination. Ancient and medieval rulers, especially thePala EmpireandNawabs of Bengalpracticed secularism in making decisions of the court.HindusandMuslimswould have prominent leaders from each community assisting the rulers. When theBritish East India Companycame in the 18th century, it instituted separate laws forHindus,MuslimsandChristians. In doing so they laid the foundation for a civil code which remains largely unchanged to date.

good to know you support hindu fundamentalism as indians package it.

If it was really a unbiased evidence, it shouldnt say 'Hindu' judge. Proves it is made up.

I'm speaking generally, I don't have a problem with people of different faiths holding high posts. However I do know AL has it's own agenda with these things.

I don't see any issue here regarding his religion. A good judge always speaks through his judgement and he was the senior most any way, superseding him would have sent a wrong message to the institution as well.

This is great gesture by BD. BD was first created for Muslims only. That was a great mistake. Later we had to pay the price in 71 war. All of our assets were destroyed and a confused nation took some more times to recover from political anarchy. But we have made a secular prosperous nation now. While our neighbors will turn communal, Im sure BD will be the only liveable place to live equally.
you cant stop attacking India... :p:
is your secularization really from grassroot or imposed from top...
one bangladeshi asked me, why you guys accepted a right wing as PM, I said thats democracy for you.
He replied, so why dont you think same should happen in BD. I did not have any reply for that.

There's a word for Hindus in Bangladesh...I believe it's Malaun more specifically it is pronounced like this in BD - "Molaoon". LOL.
