Bangladesh’ GDP Growth Better Than India, Way Higher Than Pakistan – ADB

Can we please stop with these self-congratulatory "Bangladesh better than India/Pak" threads?
Are India/Pakistan standard bears of development?

Is it necessary to rub every tiny achievement in their faces?

"Yay, we are slightly better among backward third world shitholes while about 6 million of us work shitkicker jobs overseas!".
It is to rub in the faces of these arrogant Pakistanis who have a false sense of racial superiority complex towards us Bangladeshis.

.
I wish someone buys them there shupabanglas an English to Bengali dictionary so that they may look-up the meaning (and definition) of LDC

I will recommend you to just go back to school and learn little bit more on economics. But looking at the poor education system of Pakistan it is not gonna surprise me if you make another idiotic comment.

P.S. I am only an honorary Pakistani and am PROUD of it!!!
P.P.S. were it not for bongo LDC status, all of you would be trying to jump over te border fence giving BSF oportunities for a lot of target practice

Bangladesh's per capita GDP is around 1800 USD and for graduating from LDC it is required 1250 usd.

Bangladesh is already a developing country and officially will get recognition by 2021.

Pakistan graduated from LDC in 2009 and at that time Bangladesh's per capita GDP was half of Pakistan but now it is more.

That means when Bangladesh's economy increased with leaps and bounds and reduced gdp gap by 3.5% each year that time Pakistan's economy stagnated.

So the things that matter Bangladesh is ahead of Pakistan both in terms of GDP and per capita GDP, export earning, foreign reserve. hdi, literacy rate, gdp growth etc.

That is the reason I asked you to go back to school.

If you have not read the story of rabbit and tortoise at school, go and read it.

.
Let's put your comparison in India - BD perspective. Indian economy is nearly 10 time Bangladesh economy.
Simply because India has 8 time bigger population than Bangladesh. And that type of gdp give you bigger pocket, but don't feed hungry peoples.
So before big talks and thinking of Bangladesh economy, perhaps it's wise for you to think of feeding hungry folks in India who are actually more than in number of total BD folks .

Coupled with one of the top most corrupt countries with the least innovative folks in Asia!! Anyway the thinking part - be it religion, language, state policies, diplomacy, Defence, biological status (humans or termites) or anything else - is done by India for BD!!! BD’s job is to follow it in verbatim....

Dude before talking about anything, please increase your literacy rate from mare 58% Mr. 150th. These topics are not meant to be discussed by illiterates or less educated.

What can we do when Pakistani media, Indian media or other international media produce such type of article or tv show? I am also do not like such articles but I console myself that at least these type of news are coming from them, not from us. Seems like a lot of people in our neighborhood is having a difficult time believing that, Bangladesh is growing faster then them or Bangladesh could be ahead in some parameter. Another such article also now running here-

Believe you me - in last 10 years hardly ever I mean literally , hardly ever heard Bangladesh getting headlines in Pakistani Mainstream media. Fact is never heard anybody in mainstream Pakistani media talking and discussing about Bangladesh - actually 90% 220million Pakistanis mostly youth doesnot even know the exact location of Bangladesh on world map.

And hence nobody in Pakistan even responds to Bangladesh to the articles of who is better than other.

Fact is never heard anybody in mainstream Pakistani media talking and discussing about Bangladesh - actually 99% 220million Pakistanis mostly youth doesnot even know the exact location of Bangladesh is on world map.

I know why Pakistan's educational system is so poor and mare 58% of the population are literate.

Just for info Bangladeshis entourage teenagers to increase general knowledge since young ages to know more about all countries in the map, their capital, currency etc.

Or may be your youth or your educational system try to forget about the defeat in 1971 into the hand of Bangladeshis. :coffee:

OK. Mighty wise one we bow down to your Sageness.:disagree:

BD should hit the half a trillion mark by around 2023 at current growth rates. So are we ok to compare BD and Indian economy then?
For starters, you can then compare yourselves to Pakistan, provided you graduate from LDC status.

We don't care about kiss-asses so don't waste that bow.;)

I believe time has come for us to seriously look towards manufacturing. Private industries have to take the lead. Better not to hope much from the govt. Not much can be done without bureocratic reforms. More and more companies like Walton needs to pop up. If our private sectors shine we will keep improving.
I completely agree with you that the private companies should be encouraged to come forward to invest in a few SELECTIVE sectors that can pull the economy further. When the garments sector started to develop it was with private companies with little money to invest. They built one small stitching shop here and another in some other place. After a few decades, gradually the garments have become a very big sector.

But, the new sectors cannot be built piecemeal with such a small investment. So, these will require govt and Bank help. New sectors cannot be initiated without the direct govt support. However, I am worried about the nature of our political people. They may only come forward if the investors are ready to flow money to these people. I think the GoB needs to prepare an implementation policy first.

However, i do not see any initiative has been taken by the GoB so far.

I could not have better illustrated the reasons why BD has surpassed PK in every positive barometer.

Whatever you have acheived is because you are tiny land with massive population, govt minimum wages are way too low compared to Pakistan, have indian blessing you bow them and they let you grow, are insignificant in international politics, have fought no major war, etc etc.

Pakistani women maybe illiterate and does not work but they at least don't get sold to foreign countries in order to earn remits for the country.

This clearly proves that someone might soon self immolate himself out of inferiority complex.

Guess what you can't rub anything on us, you know why? Cuz we don't give a fkk about you.
Indian workers remit $10B officially per year from BD!!! Forget about the CEOs or professionals, even the floor supervisors in their garments industries need to be from India or SL!!! Even the syndicated Mafia bosses, who control the supply chains of all commodities, are from India!!! Any staff is sold 2-3x of the world price and the "delta" goes to India!!! As for the businesses, it's 100% under the ruling party control, and the most profitable ones belong to the Indians!!! All the major development in BD occurs within 10-20 square miles of their capital city!!!! Not to mention the level of corruption (BD is within top 5)...

Public education in BD is being systematically destroyed!!! All the major public exam questions can be bought before hand!! Admissions to the public institutions like engineering or medical schools are controlled by the ruling party goons!!! Either one needs to be close to the party or pay heavy bribes to get an admission!!! The result is the med school grads can't even figure out a simple X-ray image!!! Either you have to go to the Indian-run extremely expensive private hospitals, or go to India itself for a simple treatment!!! Forget about getting a government job without being a ruling party member and paying bribes!!!! It's a matter of total subjugation, and this settlement is permanent...
