Bangladesh’ GDP Growth Better Than India, Way Higher Than Pakistan – ADB

Please do not say things like this about Pakistan. The PDF Pakistanis claim it is only their benevolent country that the USA is most fearful of. President Obama usually could not sleep at night because of his uneasiness with the economic and military muscle of this country, this is what I have read in some posts.

Yet, its PM is now visiting foreign Capitals with hat in hand to beg for money. Oh, I forgot. Is it because that country has no more opportunity to steal our jute dollar anymore? It used to import even lawn grass from France to beautify Islamabad, the new Capital, with that dollar.

By the way, BD export last fiscal was $41 billion. How much was Pakistan export? That country is in shambles, but PDF Pakistanis claim their country the mightiest in Asia.

Even an idiot knows export is not THE economy but part of an economy ..

Do enlighten us about Pakistani Social Security programmes.

Bangladesh has some areas of social-help programmes for the most vulnerable, including private sector NGO programmes.

And most importantly, at the end of the day as a Pakistani citizen, you have to ask why Pakistani govt. did nothing to promote exports (other than token stainless items and sports goods) which provides minimally trained underclass folks some income to get three square meals and a roof over their heads. Did anyone stop them?

When the underclass benefits, everyone benefits (even feudal landowners in Pakistan).

Maybe not exporting chaddis - but something?? The Chinese would have helped you...

Where was the economic planning when these chaur autocrats of yours were stashing away billions in their Dubai and Swiss bank accounts? Granted we have our chaurs too - but at least they produce results.

Will building a bunch of Defense Housing Societies in various cities constitute lasting economic growth?

If I didn't care like most Bangladeshis - then I would not even ask...but seems no one did the asking in Pakistan and went along with Fauji rule.
