Bangladesh Buys Fighter Jets From China for 96.3M

The best planning for the Bangladesh air force would be to get hands on FC-1 fighter. It will get it cheap from China, and will have capability they need!

If they want the western standard fighter then they can go with the modified JF-17 with an AESA radar which will really boost their capability.

Unfortunately for Bangladesh, they may not be able to afford the JF-17 with the AESA, since the cost may go up by 35 to 40 million per aircraft. They may have have no option but to go for the cheaper version with the Grifo-7 radar.

If Pakistan plays its cards correctly, it can swipe the deal to sell JF-17s to BD instead of China selling the FC-1. Although in both cases China earns some money, however, in an FC-1 deal Pakistan may loose out on their commission.
Correct me if I am wrong.

They were before considering to go for Su-30 or some high tech plane, but later switched to F-7 fighters. I dont know why would they go for third class fighters at this time when they are suppose to be replaced soon by more advanced fighters like JF-17. It would be way better off to wait for the JF-17 than get F-7s.

Bangladesh is already having problems to maintain there odd MiG-29's which they only have 8.

May be China also loan them some money for maintainance of their F-7 fleet.

BVR, but to shoot who?

Don't underestimate Bangladesh. They have recently launched a secret SSBN sub. If US attacks China then Bangladesh is gonna launch a massive nuke attack on US.

Chinese are just returning the favor for Bangladesh's commitment by providing them the super class F-7's with advanced AESA radar under the small modified nose and China is equipping them with some secret BVR's.

F-7 is not a bad fighter it would be enough for air-defense.......
but of course it would make more sense if they purchase fc-1..... (probably in a financial crisis)

last time when I used my common sense I was flying over the Sovergin Bangladeshi airspace and heading towards Agartala AFB (Coming from Kalaikunda AFB).

The objective was to save fuel and time which now has become a routine.

BD pilots kicked Indians mig 21 with outdated sabres and f6's...For a small nation they do have fine pilots yet not the best material but if they will buy jf17 with BVR then I doubt that IAF will win with hands down... Even with their super duper paper tiger MKI. And if BD is doing a bad job with F7p and F7BG (same as PG) then how come India's main fighter is still the older Mig21? Atleast BD bought new examples and did not refit old dead frames with BVR... If you look around the world then the Bison is a dead concept. Point defense does not need BVR cause it decreases range and makes the plane cheaper then the weapons it has...

Let us now rethink. Pakistan will remove mig21 earlier then IAF... And atleast Pakistan will do that with 50% Pakistani jet. I see another decade with lots of changes before MRCA lands in Indianland. Do I smell something? Smile.
