What's new

Bangladesh beats Scotland by 6 wickets

.
Ireland and other associate team gets to play Australia, India, NZ etc. ONCE in FOUR YEARS. How are the associate teams expected to improve? Cricket is increasingly becoming a game played by only 8 countries. While soccer is played by nearly 200. ICC needs to seriously expand base. A WC played by 8 teams is a laughing stock.

Even Bangladesh doesn't play Australia, New Zealand or India in a year. Mostly it's Zimbabwe, West Indies and Sri Lanka. The top teams play among themselves and Pakistan is still bitter that Bangladesh refused to tour due to security concern, Sri Lanka are well the least egoistic (after all they toured Pakistan when no one else dared to). If the top teams can't find other top teams to play, then they either invite or visit Bangladesh or Zimbabwe to play a small series.

Thats right. BTW who should play then?

If associate teams are not allowed to play because they cannot win, why is India allowed to play? Either let everybody play or make only australia play against australia.

I am not a fan of the old narcissist fool sachin but he has a point when he said a WC should be among 25 teams.

No sympathy for Bangladesh. Bangladesh got ICC Associate status in 1977 and have their test status for the last 15 years and even today BD is considered a joke. How many more years do you need?

If more teams will play cricket in the world cup, then it will certainly increase the popularity of cricket.
