Bangladesh has been ranked the most positive country in Asia in 2017, in an annual global index published by Daily Positive (D+), an online media organisation from Australia that specializes, as the name may suggest, in positive news.

Bangladesh's positivity in 2017 has attracted praise from various quarters, so this is really just a sort of confirmation. In a long list of positives, none has had a greater impact than how beginning from the fag end of August, Bangladesh dealt with the world's fastest growing refugee crisis with open arms and saved the world from a huge catastrophe, said a press release.

Its just the same BS as "happiness index" and the likes. Not really a BBS/non-BBS thing.

How are we to know each person in every country judges positivity by the same standards? A person in country X may feel more positive than country Y because he/she inherently has different standards in measuring it.

I would rather compare on hard measurable entities of progress. Perception has its place though, but it comes with major caveat if its a unidimensional metric in a survey.

I mean if Bangladesh simply "feels" its the most positive country in Asia, is it truly better off than its much more developed peers?

How many were even surveyed in BD? There were less than 4000 global participants in total.
