I agree but out BA cheif can not even imagine 120 km it seems ..... lol...
Aziz is such a chad, the dude does take corruption but gets his proper job done at the same time. Unlike the BAF chief. I say put aziz in charge of BAF, he will take commission here and there but atleast he will get things done.

Aziz is a total chad

Bruh I agree lol , I'm really happy for the new VT-5s but honestly these VT-5s are nothing without proper air defense.

Aziz LAD strikes again hopefully this is bought with TOT. And in sufficient numbers
Sorry, we do not do ToTs around here. How would we line pockets from import deals otherwise?

Why do you think I keep screaming about the need for replacing AFD with an Office of the Joint Chief of Staff?
Among many other good things, the Joint Chief can slap BAF around.

Thank god he is retiring soon otherwise this guy will go bonkers if army signs deal for Type-A GMLRS which will have maximum 280 km range. Way beyond his imagination. 😄

What's the point of getting ToT if we don't have any manpower and infrastructures to absorb them? An MRO/servicing plant maybe possible.

Aziz:
Aziz is from the Corps of Artillery and favours artlillery modernisation. His comment was in the context of BA's existing firepower. 120 km is a giant leap.

ToT:
ToT does not happen overnight. It is phased in gradually as the local resources gain competence and plant infrastructure gets built.

There are civilian/military import lobbies for different sources of equipment who benefit from procurement deals. Preference for suppliers change as appointments of personnel change which is why you see haphazard procurement of similar equipment from various sources.
ToTs make it difficult to line pockets.
It took us 49 years to sign a deal for setting up an MRO plant for APCs.

Well deals with ToT are priced way higher, more ways to line your pockets and (for Aziz) pay @DalalErMaNodi and finally learn new "old man" dance moves for weddings. His moves looked really bad at his son's wedding.

Thanks for explaining. Did not have all the inside scoop.

230mm and 300mm MLRS systems along with TRG-230 and TRG-300 (Tiger) missiles will be delivered to Bangladesh Armed Forces in 2021 Q2.

Thus, Bangladesh will have very precise strike capability at the range of 20-120 km.

Then again no one will give you ToT for 18 systems. It comes with large amount of order and it's still unclear that Bangladesh has that kinda requirement or not. No doubt that 18 more will be ordered but these systems will be complemented by other types of artillery. Amar miya is talking about local production of Type C G/MLRS rocket but we are yet to see any evidence though they ordered Type C G/MLRS three times by now.

We didn't operate BTR-80 for 49 years and got 1000 of them only a decade ago. It was supposed to be an assembly plant not MRO and no, we don't have either. If it happened there would've been news about it.

The MRLS is an under licenced version of NORINCO WS-1.

Regarding requirement, no doubt there is requirement for hundreds of units of medium and long range artillery guns/barrels. Given our geography, our KPIs are exposes to enemy artillery.

We could own 5 squadrons of EFTs but they would be useless if the fleet and runways are levelled to the ground by the enemy.

The only way to deter enemy artillery fire is to guarantee a devastating retaliation ensured through redundancies of artillery batteries.

Instead of buying tiny amounts of guns every now and then we should localise artillery equipment via ToTs.

Regarding APC MRO Plant:
I was referring to overall APC usage since independence and not just BTR-80s.

The MRO plant deal has gone to the Ukrainians as confirmed by my sources. I forgot that this is not public info yet so feel free to be skeptical (I am not Amra Khan who berates people for not believing him).
