Good choice by BAF. It looks like they are planning to get a potent 4th gen platform in future. If thats the case then Russian jets would be the ideal option.

.
modified based on experience of Mig 29.
try harder again.

i can see u don't understand technical stuff
Yes, the Mig-29 was never at the level of satisfaction for Ariel combat. Thus Russia shifted to Su-27. But the F-16 is one of the best air superiority multi-role fighter and the J-10 was based on it and later had modifications based on the Eurofighter Typhoon.

J-10 is trying to copy version of Russian jets, later had modification based on Euro fighter ? are you kidding me ? where China got hand on Typhoon ? stop the stupidity

The Lavi was a US funded Israeli project that had the hands of many nations into creating a top air-superiority fighter jet. The airframe was designed by many nations together. Thus, you will see Typhoon, Rafale and J-10 have a lot of similarity with looks.

The US didn't want to switch to it as they were quite satisfied with the F-16.

You haven't heard of Chrome?
According to the links, Gripen would cost about 100 million Swiss Franc which is more or less equal to US$. OTOH, in 2006, an F-15K cost $100mn in 2006 currency. The last sale of F-15 was to Saudi in 2011 who bought 84 for $30 billion including 70 upgrades. I'll let the readers decide.

Lavi was completely Israeli project. It was shut down due to financial troubles and US pressure as it didn't want competition with its F-16 which Israel then bought. LOL If airframe similarity is to go by then Rafale was designed by Euro-fighter partners too, and Eurofighter was also designed by French.
J-10 is a Lavi that was enlarged by Russian design houses to fit the larger Al-31 engines
