Bangladesh 9th among emerging economies to deal with virus aftermath

Perhaps a trifle over the top, but as for feeling for the poor is concerned, it goes beyond numbers. Remember MGR's mid-day meal scheme? It went beyond the numbers too.

Just dont appreciate it when people say "only we do this....no one else cares about it...or does anything about it".

Plenty of people recognise it for what it is all across the world, a scourge who's eradication (in all forms, not just basic income) cannot come soon enough....and fight their good fight to do their bit to try make it so.

Calm down, you've made your point. :D

I find it hard to believe. Their infrastructure were mostly built during the Soviet times and just maintaining them would be enough to make them far better than Bangladesh. I am particularly talking about transport infrastructure. Moreover, Ukraine's per capita GDP is almost twice of Bangladesh. From Youtube, it seems they have comparable road and rail infrastructure of other Eastern European countries. Can you elaborate why do you think, their infrastructure is no way better than Bangladesh? I like to hear from someone who knows first hand both BD and Ukraine well.
That’s the part they fucked up in, maintenance. The soviets designed the infrastructure similar to autobahn, if you have a good vehicle that can tackle the bad road, you can safely reach 190km/h but heavy snowfall and rain ruins their roads just like ours and they don’t repair them as often
Oh and that per capita income, imo is bogus. Doctors engineers earn 200 dollars month, only the best in the field like a couple of professor of mine who have PhD done from Canada earns into the 1000s figure. You’re better off being a tattoo artist in ukraine than a doctor, you’ll earn about 600$ after taxes and paying off the tattoo shop owner. Business is a big investment here 10k minimum and expect first six month of loss before ever turning a profit. But after that , that seems like a more stable form of income to me
