Bangaldeshi Armoured Corps: MBTs

why wuold you even want to fight a war against India? why would you want India's NE? why not develop your own place and be content with it. please do not derail the thread - from armored vehicles and tanks of BD into a BD Vs India war thread.
Good question......Why does BD needs a war against India.
Anybody care to answer.

.......

If the Indians could employ T-55/T-54 tanks why could not Pakistani T-59s have been employed there? And what did most of Pakistan’s T-59s in 1971 war do in the 1971 War apart from hiding in reserve forests or moving in trains!

good question !

Current policy is giving the highest priority to Navy
Why the Navy ?

The Su-30MKI at Tezpur can reach BD within minutes.
Pick off your air force in minutes.

Clearing path for Jaguars to bomb the hell out of your ground troops.

Proceeded by a counter punch by Assam rifles and BSF.

Troops at China border stay where they are.

Awami League will always be there.

Neither will Khalda Zia be there after 2 decades.

Also after 2 decades it is the PAK-FA which will be at Tezpur.

Surely the PAK-FA will take even less time cleaning house vis-a-vis BD Air Force

You have forget in your war movie the 1.5 Million armed Force of crossed sword in the west.

No one is saying we will fight a war against India. We do not need one. But, it is always the neighbors who fight border wars. We have to prepare ourselves for any such eventuality.

Right I agree.....Good defence is the best deterrent and you should continue to build it.........
But if my knowledge is correct, India and Bangladesh have no major ongoing conflicts, no major border disputes, India usually does not instigate a direct war........and all I see in this thread is India vs Bangladesh in tank perspective..
Anyway seems off thread....Do continue......

Being a big country India does not have to instigate a war with BD. However, it always instigates frictions with all its neighbors. in case of BD it is Farakka, LBA non-treaty, Teesta Barrage that withholds water, many other barrages across the border that withdraw water in winter etc.

Bangladesh , indeed, has an impressive armoured firepower. The Bangladeshi Army has in its inventory about 370 MBTs (MBT 2000, Type 69 II mk, Type 69 II, Type 59 II, and Type 62s). She can hold her ground with such a force. And rightly needed considering She shares a border with India and Myanmar.

Such an impressive amount of MBTs. No doubt Bangladesh can hold her own fort, when the situation needs her to.

. . . . .
With that number of MBTs at its disposal, she can bloody any foolhardy nation that would dare to invade Bangladesh. Its enough to deter any thoughts of aggression by either the Indian Army or Myanmar Army.

Without Air Superiority Having an large Armoured forces is invain. We all found that out in recent wars over middle east. Tanks are seating ducks for jet fighters & attack helicopters. You should improve your Air Force in order not to let that happen.
From Indian side I doubt It will be possible to conduct effective large armoured thrust into Bangladesh effectively, IAF will play the most importent role in a conflict.
Realistictly with no disrespect intended, Myammar Armoured forces looks little stronger, just a bit, compared to you Armoured corpses. It will be nail bitting to watch who wins if any conflict occurs between both countries.
