Where the hell did you get this Calcutta Presidency. There were Bengal Presidency, Madras Presidency and Bombay Presidency. I think, the British policy was initially not to recruit untrustable Bangalis. There were many from even today's Uttarakhand, but negligible few from Bengal proper.
