I think, the Burmese terrain is wet, marshy, hilly and full of trees-not that suitable formovemet of heavy tanks there. In case of border with India, NE, SE & SW are all unfit for MBT movement. I understand, it is fit only in the terrain surrounding BD's NW and probably Tripura..

For the similar reasons, Indian or Burmese MBTs are almost incapable to stage a heavy tank attack inside BD terrain. Their tanks will bog down in our marsh land full of ponds and wet paddy lands.

A lot will depend on what time of the year are the tanks employed.

Sam waited till the winters for this in 71. Though the water table is high the terrain inside BD is not entirely a ' No go' for tanks.
In fact , more than terrain it shall be the development ( canals etc) which shall form a hindrance.

Indian generals waited till December in 1971 for reasons other than that you have cited. They waited until December because it would disallow a Chinese advance through the snow capped Himalayan passes.

Even then IA did not bring in their heavy tanks. But, even the 15t mini tanks could not advance, they bogged down in the clayee irrigated lands of BD..

The fact that most of Bangladeshi rivers would be swollen during monsoon also played a major role in timing of invasion.

An invasion during monsoon would have favored defenders more than usual.

They have OEM copy of your Al-Khalid.

Are you saying that Al-Khalid is not a good tank!

It's a downgraded .. Watered down MBT-2000.. Not AK.

No but you have them in really small numbers need a lot more

Maulvi sb do you even know which gun is used on AK? Or anything abt any system used in AK?

MBT-2000 and Al-Khalid are same, the term Al Khalid is only prevalent in Pakistan.

Anyway, Bangladesh uses the VT-1A variant if I'm not wrong

AK doesn't use a single Chinese sub system .. While MBT-2000 is a Chinese version... Pakistan developed AK on the basis of a Chinese tank ... The prototype with Chinese sub systems =. MBT-2000.... VT-1A inferior cousin of MBT-2000.
