Come May, India will take a significant step towards operationalising its indigenous experimental Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) system that can target incoming missiles with its own interceptor missiles.

The system, which will provide India with the capability to counter missile threats from China and Pakistan, will be tested at 200-km altitude in May.

“We are preparing to test the interceptor missile at 200-km altitude this May,” DRDO chief Dr V K Saraswat said here on Tuesday.

The DRDO is also preparing to operationalise the phase-I of the BMD system to provide a missile shield to major cities including the national capital by 2014.

because India don't believe hiding failure also, if its truth . Unlike PAK, CHina which hide if their things failed and announced as successful .

Yep, she is father of this..... phase one is already ready , testing is going on for improvements in phase-11 and after that phase-111 will start (include ICBM/Cruse Missile)
