Bajaj to build a plant in Bangladesh

For an Indian it is, Because we are used to auto companies coming to India and selling their products, and Bajaj is the second company after TVS to have a 2 wheeler manufacturing outside India...

Well Bajaj is known for certain way of marketing, and they love competition.....

Yes it definitely will.
However distribution strength (which Walton will have an edge being the first mover) is not important here, since Bangladesh is really not that big.

Walton has created a very decent brand image.....but Bajaj is almost a heritage brand.

Indian auto companies should really invest more in R&D if they want to give completion to Japanese

Bajaj and TVS have good RnD strength, Bajaj has more experience in Rnd and they were associated with Tokio RnD, Kawasaki, AVL and now KTM, When it comes to TVS their RnD is relatively young but they also have their experience working with Suzuki.... Hero has just started their own RnD and they will take some time to get settle down.....

Long way to go to compete Japanese......They are decades ahead..... Especially on higher CC category....Indians are good in sub 200 cc engines

Bajaj made a huge mistake by moving away from scooter.... some how second generation wanted it to be a Motor cycle company...... They tried launching scooters, but some how they didnot want to use CVT technology and that caused them a lot.... Bajaj become bajaj by selling their scooters....

Once you payoff the appropriate taxing people to lower import taxes, there will be no need to manufacture anything here.
