The Supreme Court on Thursday accepted Bahria Town Karachi's Rs460 billion offer for the lands it occupies in the Malir district of Karachi and restrained the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from filing references against it.

Don't think so, the money to be reimbursed will be done over a period of time, like in 8-10 years or so.

At the same time if the govt. of Pakistan has increased the gas/electricity charges other indirect taxation earlier say 3-5 years back and end subsidies, end tax amnesty and collects the fund/money before the IMF bailout it would have been a much wiser move.

Now the money collected from the above mentioned measures will go to IMF as interest and as compound interest, earlier that money would have been gone to the national GOP kitty...so overall lack of foresight here.

Gov should put a 2% property tax on these houses. Too much money is being parked in the property market in Pakistan, which is the reason for prices skyrocketing. A house worth 5 million 5 years ago is now 25 million.

Nowhere else in the world does that happen!

i would not buy land in any where in bahria. it will effect but rupee is dropping again so all the benefits goes to those who are corrupt. but my contribution is not to go towards bahria.
