Cache of explosives recovered during raid in Chaman

CHAMAN: Security forces conducted an operation on Friday and recovered a huge quantity of explosives, weapons and other documentation maps from Balochistan’s Chaman district near the Pak-Afghan border, DawnNews reported.

Security sources said that acting on a tip-off received from intelligence agencies, an operation was conducted on a house situated in the Guldara Baghicha area of Chaman district during which two suspects were also taken into custody.

During the raid security forces claimed to have recovered almost one and half tonnes of explosive materials, 100 assembled improvised explosive devices, 109 land mines, weapons and other equipment used in the making of bombs.

The security personnel also got hold of numerous maps and other documents pertaining to Quetta and Chaman areas of the province.

Sources further said that the two arrested suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation adding that one of the suspects allegedly belonged to a banned organisation.

Chaman is a small town in the southwestern province of Balochistan and is one of the two main crossing points for supplies for American and Nato troops fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan has been an almost unending source of weapons and drugs(money) as well as crime since 1979.
Without going into history too far, I want to comment that since NATO + US are in charge and occupiers of Afghanistan , thus they are responsible for cutting this flow of weapons, crime and (Drugs) money to the criminals.

Maybe NATO/US can do a little more than shaping public opinion on public debate forums, and concentrate on job at hand @ afghanistan.

A good point to start would be try to explain how does a country like Afghanistan with no industrial, chemical base come up with weapons almost continuously ?

How does remote satellite sensing fail to pick up where poppy is being planted. Commercial images of 30cm resolution are available openly. which is enough to pin point every little plant individually. I presume NATO/US will have much more information then that.

How would US/NATO explain their failure to act upon this intelligence ?

@CENTCOM
Quantities of such scale cannot be assembled without external support & ofcourse stored without internal support. Surely they were not stored for fun. :coffee:
