A ministerial visit with a delegation of more than 60 members does mean a lot. And it's not the minister visit I'm talking about. We are receiving Chinese defence delegations in almost every month while our officials are also visiting China quite regularly. An AVIC delegation is set to visit Dhaka next month.

Those Ming subs are just a start to get necessary experience with training, logistics, maintenance for submarines. BN is already in discussion to procure more advanced ones in the next few years. We all know India's experience with regards to the accidents of Kilo class subs. We don't want to go that way.

Tripura to Supply 60 MW More Power to Bangladesh

Tripura is all set to sell 60 megawatts of more power to Bangladesh from the upcoming Monarchak thermal power plant in Sonamura subdivision.
Tripura is already selling 100 megawatts of electricity to Bangladesh from the Palatana power project for which Bangladesh government had immensely helped by allowing free transit of heavy equipments across their territory.

According to official sources, there would be no problem in the supply to Bangladesh provided Monarchak project can realize its full potential of generaring 101 megawatts of power. “Only snag is whether ONGC will be able to keep its commitment of supplying the full quoata of natural gas ; if the supply materialises there is no problem because we will have plenty of power to supply but, if not, there may be some problems.”
