Since anger is for the political meddling from a few, my guess is that if the next COAS does not insist on continuing the stream of political misadventures, then the feeling of resentment will soon go away. Especially if new establishment could manage tangibly free and fair election free of rigging and all people trust the elections, then recovery of repute will be very quick I think.


Though managing elections is not their domain but we all know they do it.

All they have to do is go back to the barracks and get rid of Black sheep's among them. And in 5-10 years all will be Forgiven. No Government of Pakistan will reduce Defense Budget. But the only thing any one will get rid of is Post retirement of Appointments of Generals as Ambassadors and Executive positions in State Institutions.

Look at Turkey Even after their Old military establishment was eradicated Pre and Post Coup Turkish military has only gotten Stronger and is better respected now than it was before.

8- the posts of d.g i.s.i , i.s.p.r and c.j.s.c should be rotated among the three services.

• ISPR and CJSC Should be not Only Rotated CJSC Should have more powers and Control over the Military.
• DG ISI should go to the Civilians but mandated that any person appointment must have experience in Intelligence and Counter Intelligence Operations.
• Powers of Promotion above Brigadier Should be taken from Army Chief and Given to A Board of Senior Officers. This has created too many Yes Men.
• The Office of Judge Advocate General Should become Independent of COAS. That's the only way that office can perform its function.
