they did the same with Hashmi who stayed in prison during Musharraf era because of his pro democratic stance and had the intellectual ability to write his book 'haan main baghi hoon.' Then N league loved him and portrayed him as their party symbol. But the problem is that those who have the guts to take a stand against a dictator and do not run away also have the guts to point to the short comings of their own party leadership - which only knows how to catch a flight to Saudia or Dubai and then wait for a US-Saudia sponsored NRO to get them back in the game of minting money.
