Automatically ban Indians for posting from fake news sites

Agree it should apply to repeated known trolls too but pointless....as it is not perma ban they will just be back or with another id

You are correct that "patriotic" Indian forums like Bharat Rakshak and Defence Forum India are not really intellectual and cosmopolitan places. Even I being an Indian would find it poisonous to be there. Why do you want PDF to be their equivalent ?

I come to PDF for its diversity of membership and for its range of discussion.

Diversity is Excellence provided there are NO indians. All others are MORE than welcome.

While we are considering action on the guests from our friendly next door neighbor , could we also debate how to respond to the following?

1. Fake posts by guests from one other country in the sub-continent chest thumping economic, (interesting link) and cultural superiority over us.

2.Fake posts by guests above, accusing our armed forces of war crimes when no international war crimes courts, not even those of their "victorious allies" ever accepted, investigated or proved.

3. Repeated posts throwing a long forgotten Civil War in our face with the aim of showing superior military prowess both of their armed forces and their allies.

None of the above actions by our guests are with the intent of serious discussions but with the intent to troll, and insult our nation and our armed forces.

That's because they are "mini indian" sanghi wannabes.

When it is time to bash India, the same Indian News agencies become a medium choice but bad when it is against Pakistan. I have seen quite a few FMs protesting on this thread sharing multiple links of Indian media that had something negative about India. Same media becomes fake when it has something against Pakistan

Or make a list of media and post it here, that these XYZ media are acceptable and others are not. Thereafter, accept everything from these selected media. Even those news articles that are critical of Pakistan.

Or ban them completely. No news from any Indian media at all. But no that wouldn’t sound good to quite a few people. Because that is the primary source for bashing India when it is convenient.

As of now it seems to be a matter of convenience and what sounds good to the majority here.

Agree with this. It's actually the source that is the problem. So the rule should apply to anyone peddling a fake narrative/fake news source.

I don't put all the blame for hate on Indians. Secular nationalist Pakistanis can ( and do ) find a common ground with their Indian counterparts.
There is no dialogue between fundamentalists on either side.

While there is some common ground for dialogue between Pakistani and Indian secular nationalists there is a full stop when we confront ethno-jingoistic linguistic chauvinists from another South Asian country.
There is no secularism there, except a narrow parochial self centered outlook. Acknowledging the beauty of their culture and language (which I admire and which is common to India) is not enough. To make them comfortable one must berate and curse one's own language and culture.

So it is best to stay clear.

it's good to compare and debate but with good evidence. I agree.

I don't approve of banning all Indians, or of banning anyone with a different view point. My point is that people who use fake news sites as sources on the forum should be banned.

Lets take the example of greekcitynews, does that sound like a legitimate website? Have you ever heard of Indiancitynews, or Italiancitynews? automatically from the name we should be suspicious. If you see such a site you should google it to see if you can find any information about it. All legitimate news sites have at least a wikipedia page or some other source. You can use whois.is to check where it is registered.

People don't investigate fake news sites because they fit an agenda. If i want to google something that fits my agenda, i'll use the first site i can find, regardless of if it sounds legitimate or not. It's wrong to do that.
