Democracy is sometimes referred to as "rule of the majority"

Austria: “Very nice student” converts to Islam, now he calls on Muslims to “kill infidels” and join the Islamic State

etc...
There's your answer why ...
How is this relevant? im responding to this guy talking about why Muslims cant criticise this law. I dont personally care what restrictions are put down, but that doesn't mean that all Muslims should automatically have their opinions disregarded.
Democracy is after all "The active participation of the people, as citizens, in politics and civic life"
So ?
That is one of the weakest argument you could have come up with ?
how does it explain your hypocrisy in questioning austria but not saudi or Iran.
The only plausible explanation for your hypocrisy is that they muslim countries, where as Austria is not.
It is very strange of Muslims they demand equal religious rights in other countries but they are never ready to give equal rights and respect to other religions in their own country.
Are you being serious?
Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy, which in case you forgot means that the state is run by a single ruler with supreme authority and absolute power.
Iran is a theocracy, which in case you forgot means a state which uses religion as the source of its legislature and religious courts to interpret all laws. Irans constitution states that: "all civil, penal, financial, economic, administrative, cultural, military, political, and other laws and regulations must be based on Islamic criteria."
Austria is a parliamentary republic, which in case you forgot is a state where the country is ruled by an elected legislative assembly, and which is accountable to its laws and people.
If Austria makes a law restricting the rights of Muslims, then they should be free to voice their concerns. Are Austrian Muslims not Austrian? are they also not allowed to criticise because a Muslim country on the other side of the world is doing the same thing?
Even Pakistan is democracy, have you ever questioned , why all religion do not have the same rights.
Why a non Muslim Pakistani citizen can not rule the country
Pakistan is an Islamic Republic, that's why. The state runs itself on the basis of Islam, and provides a bias towards the religion in all matters.
Using your own logic; its very strange an Indian questioning minority rights in other countries when mobs are destroying churches and mosques in your own.
why blasphemy laws only protects Islam and not other religions?
Blasphemy Laws apply to all religions. You defile a temple then you can get charged, you make derogatory remarks about Christianity then you can get charged.
