But I am sure this is not just about the money. They know this will help strengthen ties. India is emerging and there are huge trade opportunities between both the countries with Indian companies investing in Aus and vice versa. Plus lets not forget the political similarities and the US blessings to any Australian decision to sell uranium to India. If the Aussies are smart they would want to build partnerships with India. There arent many naval powers in the Indian Ocean region.

Your right we havent sold to India for years(ever?) and all of a sudden its gonna have a big impact on Australia?If Big brother is America you think they are seriously going to care?US-AUS relationship is abit deeper then that.

Strategically we already have many allies in our region the latest being Japan.

Not very long ago, money was never a issue for aussies, it was the non-signatory status of india. Suddenly its other way round now.

Anyways, aussie govt and people can rest assured that there uranium is going in safe hands and will be used to uplifting of indian economy and indian people. Cheap electricity can do wonders for hugely populated country like india.

Indians on this forum let's not get carried away here and stop coming up with silly logics like 'Money talks' or 'Australia needs us more than we need them.' Because that's just not true. Neither we're that rich yet nor they need us. They've got the highest amount of uranium reserve in the WORLD.

I know attacks on Indians in Australia has changed the way Indians perceived Australians. I personally think Ausies are the coolest people. And plus their accent. ooft!
