Assam's Bengali region demands economic autonomy

Damn good case study for a human psychology course though, the shame of defeat is just too hard to accept, even after 800 years, so lets distort the facts to form a favorable narrative.
Its a good case study for STOCKHOLM Syndrome, it can be found in Pakistan and the jamatis of Bangladesh who are basically the same ilk of Pakistan.

18 horsemen, you believe in this fairy tales. :omghaha::omghaha:
Not entire Bengal but Nabadwip, a place much south to Lakhanauti to be accurate. Minhaj Al Siraj heard about this from an old veteran of Bakhtiyar's army named Samsamuddin. Though later, Rakhaldas Banerjee would express his doubt about the factual veracity of this claim.

Nice to know you know Minhaj al-Siraj. Why were you so amused at the 17 (or 18) horsemen story? It's Minhaj who reported it.

Sounds more like a Hero worshiping through exaggeration of his bravery. BTW both of you guys, have you read Minhaj ul Siraj.

Poetic exaggeration is a typical characteristics of Persian chroniclers, isn't? But in this case, he has relied on an old veteran of the Khiljii army. Also the precarious state of military defence of the contemporary cities like Magadha leading to their quick fall, the story looks plausible in some sense. (And I have not read Minhaj Siraj)

I believe not, I believe it was Lakhnauti; what makes you place it at Nabadwip?

I went through Satish Chandra where he writes,"Minhaj's account is well kown; that Bakhtiyar prepared a force and pressed on the Sena capital, Nadia, so rapidly that only 18 horsemen were able to keep up with him." He also writes, "There are several difficulties in accepting Minhaj's story as it stands. Minhaj states that Nadia was the capital of Lakshmana Sena. From the archaeological evidence, we know that the capital of the Senas was first Bikrampur (near modern Dhaka), and then Lakshmanavati or Lakhnauti. Nadia was a very small town-perhaps a pilgrim center or a center of Brahminical learning. It is possible that, as in case of Bihar where Bakhtiyar confused a university with a fort, he mistook a pilgrim center, Nadia, for the Sena capital."Also, Rakhaldas Bannerjee in his Bangalar Etihas wrote that how with just 17 horsemen Bakhtiyar invaded and won Nabadwip is subjected to further historical research. So I thought probably Minhaj mentioned about Nabadwip only. Kindly excuse me if I am wrong.
