Bashar al-Assad anticipated the procedure for withdrawal of the Legion of Honor in France against him, saying it was unworthy to make a distinction of a country "slave" of the United States and preferring to return it to France.

Thursday, April 19, three days after Paris began a procedure of withdrawal of the Legion of Honor awarded to Bachar el-Assad in 2001 by Jacques Chirac, the Syrian presidency returned the decoration to France.

"It is no honor for President Assad to wear a decoration attributed by a slave regime (...) of the United States that supports terrorists," said the Syrian presidency in a statement.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has officially returned to the French Republic, through the Embassy of Romania in Damascus which sponsors French interests in Syria, the decoration of Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor granted to the President Assad by former French President Jacques Chirac, "said the presidency, saying that the decision was taken after" France's participation in tripartite aggression with the United States and the United Kingdom against Syria the April 14 ".

in those 7 years president assad was busy (against the odds) cleaning out his country from an invasion of wahabi rats straight out of the stone ages. it was easy for him to run away early and live out his life in luxury somewhere and let terrorists take over his country and let Syria disintegrate.

he chose a fight to the death for his country from day one, and will win his war. he was way too busy to care about some cheap French award in the back of his closet somewhere. he probably had forgotten about it. and as soon as it became an issue, he immidiatly returned it.

by the way, these terrorists hes fighting also happen to be a huge threat to French national security. even macron himself said something along this line short while back when saying "assad was not an enemy of france". if france was an independent state, they would be sending assad a letter of thank you, and another award (preferably made of solid gold this one).
