Aslat Frigate inducted into Pak Navy fleet

how on earth you can load c-802 and hq-6 ? i observed them closely many times they are huge and heavy dear .
what r u talking about? the Q was about FM-90 nit re-loadable not the c-802 unless you mean niether the FM-90 nor the C-802 are? you don't need to make that confusing to the mate.

what do you expect, its only 2300 tones thats small, especially when it can also carry a Z-9 chopper for antisubmarine role..
other options for navy are type54A its weight around 4500tones. now it comes into two variants
the basic one has same FM-90 but reloaded automatically while the typeA carries missles that are vertical launched and range of about 60 km..meaning a greater anglee of engagement..

some say navy should consider the ex-british destroyers and retofit them..

F-22Ps are 2800 to 3000 Tonnes displacement. The British ex-Amazon type 21 frigates are about 3100 tonnes full load and F-22Ps next to them actually look bigger. You can compare the size on Google Earth.

Is this F-22P or indegiously home built??
If its F-22P then why are some members using world indegiously built by Pakistan?? :woot:
so which and how many torpedoes and antiship missiles??
any main gun??
and what about its SONAR and electronic warfare capabilities??
I am guessing by other members comments thats it is indegiously built ……
well congratulations……:coffee::party:

This is a piece of history, as PNS Aslat is the 'First ever' frigate built at home.
Man I know about budget problems but if we get money can we built more of these Frigates in our country and how many we can built at one single time ? and When it says it can fire 8 anti ship missiles it means total or they can fill the tube with more missiles too

Acceleration in defence production under focus: Nawaz

KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday attended the induction ceremony of fourth F-22 frigate of Pakistan Navy (PN), PNS Aslat, at PN Dockyard on Tuesday.

Addressing the ceremony as chief guest, the PM said that acceleration in the field of defence production has been under close focus of the government.

He extended his felicitations to the nation on the “historic achievement” and commended the efforts of engineers and workers of PN, Karachi Shipyard and China Shipbuilding and Trading Company.

Nawaz also expressed his gratitude to the People’s Republic of China for its continuous support during all phases of the project. He said Pakistan’s strategic location could be only exploited to its advantage through development of maritime sector and a capable navy. He said Pakistan Navy was effectively defending and acting as a source of security for international trade plying off the country’s coast.

The prime minister expressed satisfaction that the construction of Aslat frigate was completed within the contractual timeline. He said bringing all four frigates into service within eight years was a remarkable achievement for a programme of this complexity and scale.

PNS Aslat is the first F-22P frigate of Pakistan Navy which has been indigenously built at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KSEW) in collaboration with China Shipbuilding and Trading Company. The ship was commissioned on April 17 this year and was inducted on Tuesday in PN fleet, after proving its combat readiness.

Prior to this, three F-22P frigates namely PNS Shamsheer, PNS Saif and PNS Zulfiquar have been built and delivered by China, which now form an important part of PN fleet.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila, Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer, Commander Pakistan Fleet Rear Admiral Khan Hasham Bin Siddique, Managing Director KSEW Rear Admiral Syed Hassan Nasir Shah and a large number of civil and military dignitaries also attended the ceremony. staff report/app

thanks for correction its displacement ranges from 2500 tones standard (according to karachishipyard) to 3000 tones maximum(according to other sources).
with regarding ex british frigates i was referring to type 42 which are up for scrape and there was rumour that PN might get them v cheap i.e at scrap price and refurbish them. they were retired this year and have displacement of 4000+ tones

a single one cost approx 180 million dollars or 18 billion rupees..
PN needs 4000 tones catergery atleast 3-4 frigates or modified f-22p with better tonage..
it also desperately need 3 or more subs
it needs them before it retires it already over used agosta 70 and type-21
