Basically I think every woman who is raped should be treated with respect and dignity and treated with justice. I hope this lady is too.

However, I don't trust foreigners in Pakistan at all. I used to live in E-7 near the Ukrainian ambassador's residence, and my neighbor downstairs was an American. He was in fact using my phone line to make phone calls and he wired it up without even asking me. These whities from abroad say a lot of nice things to get along with us but in the end there is something that doesn't make sense in their narrative. Not too long ago I saw in Bangladesh the same thing - an influential family friend invites me to dinner and has someone who is interested in a certain expertise I have. This guy has been coming to BD off and on since the 1980s and claims to love Bangladesh. Once he starts drinking and his mouth opens, he ends up telling me in so many words that Islam is the cause of violence.

How does someone who believe that claim to love Bangladesh and want to help it? Did he, for the last 40 years, not realize Bangladesh is a Muslim majority country? These people are not people who love us. They are not even people who claim to be what they are. They are, most likely spies.
