Aselsan Board of Chairman Cengiz Ergeneman stated that they are ready to take over border security. Cengiz Ergeneman, the Chairman of ASELSAN (Military Electronics Industries) in Turkey, indicating that they developed both mobile and fixed systems about border security, stated that they are able to take over the duty of handling border security, as they specialize in spotting and targeting already.

Ergeneman also denied the news about selling of the shares of ASELSAN to Israel, at all. Remarking that the shares of ASELSAN are treated at the exchange, Ergeneman said that about the half of these shares are bought by foreigners. Ergeneman attributed this to the fact that ASELSAN keeps developing, and added that foreigner amount in the shares increased to 45 per cent, most of which are pension funds from Europe and the USA, from the levels of 20 or 25 per cent, conducting these facts to the misinformation of the news about selling.

"We are willing to perform in border security"

Ergeneman explained about their case study that they are conducting in the Southeast of Turkey right now, with the new systems developed for border security. Ergeneman also said that they are quite ahead of the technology in communication, stating that lots of countries around the world such as in South America and the Pacific use ASELSAN equipments.

Ergeneman also stated that 40 thousand radios were sold to the USA by ASELSAN.

One of the three biggest facilities in Europe

Ergeneman reported that the company's studies concerning radar and electronic warfare continues at Macunkoy campus in Ankara, and the one that is going to be opened in Golbasi, which is going to be on an area of 76 thousand square meters becoming one of the biggest three microwave module producing facilities in Europe, will be giving service by March 2014.

Studies for reverse brain drain

Pointing out to Turkish engineers' accomplishments in various sectors abroad, especially in the USA, Ergeneman signified their intensive work to bring them back continues, in the scope of which they interviewed 123 employers from abroad and 66 of them have been involved in ASELSAN since 2006.

Reconnaissance and surveillance pods to be used in F-4

Ergeneman mentioned Israel's not permitting its firms to export, for the supply of the reconnaissance and surveillance pods that are going to be used in F-4's, as well. Ergeneman stated that reconnaissance and surveillance systems that are needed by Turkish Air Force immediately were planned to be supplied from Israel. However, the Israeli Government cancelled the licenses of the firms, which are ELOP and ELTA, who were supposed to provide the systems. As the required pods were needed immediately, they were bought from abroad by direct procurement. Yet, ASELSAN has got experienced human force substructure to develop an original product, if desired.
