Everything looks fine to me,there is nothing against Vietnam members, and yet they feel offended, excuse me?
What is all this "Technology doesn't matter, courage is all, don't underestimated us"bullshit?

The Vietnamese doesn't need to focus so much on technology.
This is a defense forum, can you stop spreading nonsense?Or please tell your leadership and military see if they agreed.

PT DI, a long time partner of Airbus, has license-produced the succesfull Bell 412 series for the Indonesian Armed forces. Currently the largest user is the Army (est. 48 units) which forms the backbone of its army aviation. this type of helicopter also ordered by many civillian operators.

That should mean except Vietnam, all other armies in the region are trained to deal with domestic problems, from separatists to Islamist terrorists to other social unrests. Or simply beating civilians. Never trained to fight external threat. Yes, our army is backward, but we can crush our neighbor armies combined tomorrow if we like. But as said we are a pacifist nation.
what the hell.. people in here arent talking bad to vietnam or its army..

To be honest, I don't think Vietnam is in the right place there. They import a lot of arms but their local industry is lacking (should be below Malaysia). Myanmar is better than Philippines for sure, and arguably better than Malaysia.
honestly i have very little knowledge about Vietnam's defense industries.. i heard Vietnam is making KH35U copy , improved Igla MANPAD and some automatic system for army.. that's why i put Vietnam above Malaysia.. i have no idea about Malaysia'defense industries except making some APC/IFV.. :p:

ietnam military industries too focused on maintaining their old hardware and ammunition production. Even to producing modern assault rifles they must bought all the tools and jigs and design rights from Israel. Their naval industries is on the rise thought, but the scale is too small to producing in quantity at short time frame almost at comparable level with Myanmar Naval industries. Land platform i would dare to say Myanmar defense industries had more experiences than Vietnam in designing and producing modern weaponries.
But Myanmar defense industries have limited room to grow due to arm embargo of US and Europe.. too many relied on USSR and China to get tech.. :(

Singapore actually at another level, they focusing on designing and investing on C4ISR technologies. Their Naval industries had the most shortest curve production rates (we can see from their LMS projects) among ASEAN countries. Their ultimate weaknesses is they are depend a lot of their spares parts manufacturing from abroad as they got little footprints to producing anything at home.
Good example of money made everything..
Believed it or not , SG have some spare parts industry and testing Area in Myanmar..

The PN operates two large utility landing crafts (LCU), both locally made but of different design. The BRP Tagbanua (AT-296) was built by Philippine Iron Construction and Marine Corporation with Propmech as its integrator. The ship was a product of a PN project for a new class of LCU that is expected to form the backbone of the intra-theater sealift capability and a cheaper alternative to the LST and LSV. Unlike the Tagbanua, the other ship BRP Manobo (AT-297), came in to service quietly and was based on a different design. Both ships are relatively new, being both being commissioned during the term of President Aquino.

The LMV was jointly designed by Saab Kockums AB and ST Marine with Singapore's Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) as the overall manager and systems integrator and was derived from Saab Kockum's FLEXpatrol multi-mission patrol vessel. The design of the LMV was guided by two specific requirements. Due to declining birth rates, manpower had been a critical concern for the Singapore Armed Forces and the design reflects attempts to increase the efficiency of a reduced manning crew from 30 to 23.

The Royal Thai Navy (RTN) commissioned HTMS Laemsing (PGB 561), a domestically built patrol gunboat, on 21 September after sea trials. The RTN bought its plans and materials from Marsun in a $20 million deal (excluding weapon systems). It was built by the Royal Thai Naval Dockyard to gain more experience in shipbuilding under a self-reliance policy.

The 520t vessel, launched on 25 August 2015, will cooperate with other Thai services for both anti-surface and anti-air missions. As well as these combat missions, HTMS Laemsing can intercept suspicious vessels, perform anti-piracy and antiterrorist operations, harbour security and search and rescue.

HTMS Krabi (OPV-551) is an offshore patrol vessel (OPV) of the Royal Thai Navy. She is a modified river-class patrol vessel, and was built by Mahidol Naval Dockyard, with design and technology transfer support from BAE Systems Surface Ships.[3] Additional construction took place at the Royal Thai Navy Mahidol Dockyard in Sattahip.

Krabi
is 91 meters in length, and carries an Oto Melara 76 mm main gun and two MSI 30mm secondary guns for primary defense, as well as machine guns.[3][4] It is able to operate an AgustaWestland AW139 helicopter flying from a 20 metres (66 ft) flight deck.[3] Her top speed is expected to be over 25 knots (46 km/h; 29 mph),[4] and she is powered by two MAN 16v 28/33D diesel engines, making about 7.2 megawatts (9,700 hp).[3] She is equipped with a Thales Variant surveillance radar, a Thales Lirod Mk2 fire control radar and the Thales Tacticos combat management system.

You are seeing it the wrong way brother.Singapore will never be able to challenge a mighty country like China. It is more of a displeasure,as Singapore shares friendly relationship with China.Such moves from China came as a shock to Singaporeans like myself.Hope you don't see it as a hatred towards China.
Singapore hosting USN LSS Freedom at changi naval base which conduct the nonsense freedom of navigation patrol in SCS is consider neutral and friendly to China? Hello, I think you need to get your fact, right!

-LPD-

The Endurance-class landing platform dock ships (LPD) are the largest class of ships in the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN). They were designed and built by Singapore Technologies (ST) Marine to replace the old County-class tank landing ships (LST). The four ships form the 191 Squadron of the RSN.

On 11 November 2008, a SGD 200 million contract was signed between ST Marine and Thailand for the sale of one unit of the Endurance-class LPD and its associated landing craft. The LPD would use the Terma C-Series system, which includes the C-Flex combat management system, C-Search radar suite which includes the Scanter 4100 radar and IFF, and the C-Fire fire control system.
