CM inaugurates projects worth billions in Vehari and Burewala

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the PML-N government believes in balanced development, billions of rupees are being spent on the development projects in villages. He expressed these views while addressing various functions during his visit to Vehari and Burewala on Wednesday.

The chief minister added that the completion of these projects would raise the living standard of the rural people. The CM visited Vehari and Burewala for eight hours and inaugurated different development projects including Burewala-Ludden Road worth Rs. 50 million, Cardiac Ward at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital costing Rs 40 million, 14-kilometer road from Burewala to Chichawatni worth Rs one.billion Shahbaz Sharif and laid the foundation stone of Rescue 1122 project worth Rs 70 million.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that in China’s historic economic package of $46 billion $20 billion is for energy projects only. Shahbaz Sharif said that “Pakkiyan Sarkaan- Sokhay Painday” programme will bring a revolution in villages. He said that Pakistanis had rejected the politics of sit-ins which initially hindered the speed of development projects. He added that everyone knows in which province change is being made, where 100MW solar park is being established and where the biggest hostel is being constructed for female students in Pakistan.

Shahbaz added that for the first time in the history of Pakistan, an “excellent programme” of construction and rehabilitation of rural roads with billions of rupees is continuing successfully under Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme. He said that a huge amount of 15 billion rupees is being spent on this programme during current financial year. MNAs Ch Nazir Ahmed Arain, Syed SajidMehdi, Saleem Shah, Ms. Tahmeena Daultana, were present on the occasion along with MPAs Mian Irfan Daultana, Bilal Akbar Bhatti and Ch. Irshad Ahmed Arain.

Shahbaz Sharif also visited district headquarter hospital Vehari and inaugurated cardiac centre there. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the hospital would be upgraded at a cost of Rs 603 million rupees. He said that kidney centre has been constructed at a cost of Rs 80 million, whereas setting up of blood transfusion centre would cost Rs 45 million

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the CM said that water filtration plants would soon be installed at tehsil level. The CM said that the wheel of economy cannot be moved without resolving energy crisis. He said that the coal-based energy projects would be completed by 2017 and the energy crisis will be overcome to a large extent through completion of energy projects with the cooperation of China in three years.

Addressing the meeting of MNAs, MPAs, administrative and police officers, the chief minister announced a grant of Rs 100 million for reconstruction of police stations and Rs 100 million more for the sub campus of Zakriya University Multan in Vehari.

Shahbaz directed Vehari DCO to accelarate the pace of construction work at Daanish School being constructed at Tibba Sultanpur so that modern educational facilities should soon be available to the male and female students.

Addressing the grievances of farmers the chief minister said that no hindrance would be tolerated in the payment of fixed price of wheat to the farmers. He said that Punjab government has fixed Rs 40 million tonne wheat procurement target from the farmers of the province.

235-bed hospital approved for Faisalabad: Ejaz

Member Provincial Assembly Sheikh Ejaz Tuesday said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has approved the proposal of a 235-bed hospital for Haseeb Shaheed Colony Faisalabad.

Talking to media men in Faisalabad, he said that work on this project would start in this month and it would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs 2 billion within a short span of one year.
