What's new

Fawad Choudhry Quits PTI ..and Asad Umar Follows !

.
Boded Part: Truer words never spoken about the events of the last 13+ months!!

I will give it to Imran: Brilliant, untiring tactician. But utterly stupid strategist.

Imran brilliantly used the prevalent anti-Americanism in Pakistanis after his ouster in April 2022 to gain a lot of political ground, otherwise, before April 2022 Imran was losing in by-elections and even in KPK.
After gaining ground, Imran, the impetuous psychopath that he is, decided to rush back to power but for that he needed the military's support. But the military had seen their 'Project Imran' failed--especially when Imran started to meddle in the appointments of the next COAS and ISI Chiefs. Of course that was Imran's Const. 'right', but Imran forgot his place. Also, Imran was exercising his 'rights' not because of some superiority of civilians: Imran was exercising his 'rights' because, knowing his declining popularity, he wanted to use the military/ISI (again) for power.

This is all an old-fashioned power game, guys and gals! Nothing new here. We do disservice to Pakistan if we ignore all this. So let's have some honesty in our heads and in our keystrokes! Love your country--not some personality! And call a spade a spade!

What constituion if you got to power with establishment help? He should have used the oportunity of his ouster and waited out for next election with punjab/kp govts intact.

Instead he put red line on his arrest by bringing hundreds of KP hardnered TTP like terrorists to zaman park.

PTI already had huge voting bank which increased further after april 2022 to the point that establishment and electables were no longer needed.

In any case Imran Khan have pea sized brain who I'm not sure is good for Pakistan at all. Look at his foreign policy, by 2023 only taliban ruled Afghanistan would have remained his ally. He doesn't want to talk to opposition and rather put them in jail with ISI help. What is happening to PTI is karma.

As I said in either in this or another thread here: Imran's one and only lasting 'legacy' will be discrediting the Pakistani 'Establishment'. That he did it, ironically, against his own interests, will also be noted by History. And Imran did it for political gains--not out of some grand ideals; that too will be recorded by History.

In the end, Imran will be remembered as one of the dumbest leaders in Pakistan's history, especially when you'd consider how much he was given by not only the Establishment but also by the Pakistani people who, rightly, got sick of the old order. Imran squandered it all, except for raising awareness about tackling the Pakistani Establishment.

It is time for the PTI supporters to get out of the spell and the stupor of loving this charlatan and love your country Pakistan.
Your opinion. Will disagree.

If Pakistan comes out of this and real democracy takes root, Imran Khan will be remembered in history. His becoming a PM is irrelevant.

The PTI supporters are not in any spell of Imran Khan. They have questioned their leadership from time to time. PTI is not a dynastic political party where next of kin are automatically selected. Next elections will be PPP's or PMLN, and in the next couple of years, when Establishment gets fickle and chooses to overthrow either, we shall have the exact same conversation again.

Mere Bhai!! In the jungle, that's called the Pakistani politics, there are no rules. But the wise leaders would have played the 'long game' and wouldn't have fought the combined Opposition AND the Establishment at the same time.
How many times I have to repeat that?? Imran Khan $fucked up by opening the two-front war!!

In the annals of political discourse, for a nation of Pakistan's size and influence, Imran Khan is going to be registered by History as the dumbest of all the leaders!!
You nailed it comprehensively. Having two front wars while relying heavily on the Superior Judiciary which has been split already...He miscalculated the situation on shocking scale. I mean with so much poor performance of PDM plus such powerful campaign of Imran himself last year when he addressed to over 70 Jalsas, all it needed was to have some patience and he would have got 75% result in upcoming elections.
He has got popularity....but he destroyed his accepatance by the unprescedented misuse of traditional and social media against the stake holders. He can still pull it back in few years due to the gifted talents he has if he is able to learn from the blunders !! Who knows ?

The people, especially those in their formative years will remember this, and it will stick with them and echo for decades. To this day, IK recalls leaving East Pakistan as a teenager on the last flight before the events that lead to the loss of the eastern wing of the nation. As long as IK is alive, many people still have hope thinks will work out, and the raised expectations will be answered.

Now you understand why PMLN and PPP want to engage in "family politics"? Because facing such a powerful opponent as the Pakistani military, these political parties in Pakistan can only maintain unity and not split by relying on "kinship". If Imran Khan's PTI was a dynasty, we wouldn't find such things like Shireen Mazari leaving in large numbers now

Can't disagree with you. 'Pea sized brain' and mighty ego.
Imran's blunders destroyed his chances of coming back to power at least in next few years. As for his comeback--possible but unlikely. I mean in a few years the PPP and PMLN are likely to misgovern Pakistan so much that the Establishment might--just might--again look toward Imran and bring him back from the upcoming forced-exile.

This is what kids are doing now, and after 10 years these kids will vote for PTI. Same with the previous generation.

I don't know why our leadership cannot think rationally and sensibly for once.

As a whole though, while the rest of the resignations from the party I didn't really care about, the resignation of Asad Umar, Ali Zaidi and now Imran Ismail is actually disappointing.

Ali Zaidi said a week ago that if there are only two people in PTI, it would be me and IK, aur mere sar par goli mar do.

Either they have something VERY incriminating or personal on them, or they are threatening their children and family very badly, or these guys have crumbled too easily.

Full props to Yasmin Rashid, Omer Sarfraz Cheema, and Firdous Shameem, Farrukh Habib etc.

Because they are crooks who benefit from the existing system.. For instance, Supreme Court justices have personal relationships with leaders of the PMLN, similarly senior army generals do the same. To me it Increasingly looks like becoming Corp commander and COAS is now just a increasing popular way for creating multi generational wealth among top officers. Although i will not generalize because Most of the 90s Boys stayed in Pakistan but look at, Kiyani and his family was involved in corruption. Don't have any proof for Rahil Sharif but he left the country to mint money overseas and hasn't come back, Bajwa and Hafiz both have minted billions.

Despite their flaws, Imran Khan and the PTI represent an emerging middle class that have slowly built their political and economic clout during 2000s and 2010s. The lower classes, who are more susceptible to manipulation and can be swayed by false promises and a simple plate of biryani or keema wala naan but their utter incompetence has even forced them to see light. However, the educated middle class is an entire ball game. You cant sell your bullshit to us we will ask question, we will remember, we will put pressure both here and overseas. The simple fact is these guys are trained to plan and lead wars and battles against the enemy and they are trying to use the same logic against us.

What will be done to Sheikh Rasheed
1. Isn't in PTI, so can't leave party
2. Can't break his party because it's 1 man party
3. Never married, so no wife / children.
