Yup, this picture was taken just last week, while most of Pakistan was sizzling in temperatures hitting 50 Celsius, troops on the LOC were supporting winter clothing.Above 15,000 feet is where the real fun starts.
I find it to be absolutely breathtaking and beautiful at those heights. Even though crossing 18,000 feet without proper acclimatization gave me pulmonary edema and put me in a coma. I still love going back to the Northern Areas.

By all definitions I am a Balti born in a Punjabi body
The drop in oxygen and physical exertion at really high posts can't be replicated. You need to be stepped up to consistently higher positions over a period of time. It needs to be a permanent feature.
What post is this? The highest Indian permanent post is about 21000 ft as far as I am aware.
The highest Pakistani post is also around same.
I got sick because tried going from around 3000 ft (home) to 18000 ft (post) in one week.
