SRINAGAR: Two jawans have been killed and two more critically injured in firing by Pakistani troops in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district. Pakistani troops began firing at Indian posts along the line of control on June 13. Worse, Pakistan has not responded to the Indian side's request for a flag meeting, which is normally held to defuse tensions.

Travel and trade across LoC was suspended following the hostilities. The 'peace bus' could not cross over as gates remained locked at zero point in Poonch's Chakan da Bagh. "Nothing is happening right now. Normality will restore only after a flag meeting, but the Pakistan army does not want a flag meeting," trade facilitation officer Abdul Hamid said.

On June 13, Pakistani gunners targeted Nangi Tekri posts in Krishna Ghati sector, around 2.15 pm. One of the jawans, Rajinder Singh, was injured in the attack. The Pakistani army did not permit the Indian side to evacuate the injured jawan and increased shelling. Three more jawans - PP Bakar, Jai Parminder and Balwinder Singh - were reportedly injured thereafter and Balwinder Singh died instantly. The Army said Pakistan resorted to firing usually to push infiltrators. Infiltration has been rendered difficult after the electric fence on the LoC. An Army spokesman from Jammu said Pakistani troops violated ceasefire four times in Poonch area alone. A few days back, troops detected an attempt by three militants to infiltrate through the Janghar area of Nowshera sector in Rajouri.

Pakistan accused India of attacking civilians. Police officials in Rawlakot alleged firing and shelling on Battal village, where at least two civilians were injured.

Our soldier are brave and fight unlike pakistan. Who are ready surrender 71 or run away 99 when other hit back.

In cease fire environment, out of sudden if you hit mortar and kill couple of soldier is not bravery.

Pakistan occupied kargil when indian solider where on winter withdrawal. When it back, run away.
