Yep, according to x-man these are paveway bombs..Asad don't you think we're wasting hours of our F-16's for bombing them..We should keep these f-16's for fighting Indians only and use Mirages or lease F-16's from America for WOT.

Well i am just speculating but we can get spares for F-16s cheaply under those WOT defence packages. So why use mirages. We maintain our mirages because we got tons of spares from libya and other countries, so why use those spares because most mirage III parts are hardly available world wide.We are possibly the largest users of Mirage IIIs.

Who says PAF has LANTIRN? If PAF had LANTIRN they would be fully capable of precision strikes at night. I've never seen anything about them using Chinese targeting pods either.

PAF's F-16A use the ATLIS II which is a daytime only laser-designator pod, that's why they can't do precision strikes at night. They can't use LANTIRN until they get MLU, only F-16C and later can use that, anyway LANTIRN is ancient and PAF are ordering the LM Sniper XR which is far more capable.
The strikes are by Mirages and F-16s dropping Paveway II laser-guided bombs, it is likely that UAVs are also laser-designating the targets, probably the army/air force spotters too.

Mian, those Mirages will be replaced within the next few years anyway and many are upgraded to specialise in performing strike missions, why shouldn't PAF use them?

Off course they are but i was just commenting on the article.According to the article we are using most of the time our F-16s so may be we are saving our mirages for some other fronts. Perhaps the PAF wants to convey to the US that we need upgraded F-16s as soon as possible just like USAF every once in a while says that they need more F22s for one reason or another.

But then again we don't know what really goes in the PAF and whether PAF uses mirages or not.

We all know that our ROSE IIIs have much better strike capability.
