We make sacrifice for the sake of Allah almighty then distribute meat to the poor people so a poor family/child is fed, this also gives meat to a poor family atleast once a year. Lastly Islam does give 2.5% zakah and fitrana to the poor and needy. Sometimes build people homes and give the poor a start in life.

Please do something useful in life than trying to become God.

Please don't try to invent Islam. We are not Christians or other religions who can amend religion as they please, our religious teachings are already written for us. Please educate yourself before writing any comment on Islam.

All schools including the Shia consider Qurbani a 'Farz' for all Muslims who can afford it. Only exception is the Maliki school which says that it is a 'Sunna mu’akkad' and much preferable but not compulsory for those who are not performing Hajj. However, only one qurbani for the whole family is mandatory.

I totally agree with you. There must be an 'Ijtihad' on this matter because in a poor country like Pakistan, part of the money spent on qurbani by non Hajis can be better spent on helping the poor & the needy. In any case there should be no harm in restricting the qurbani to one sacrifice per family. Personally speaking, I have been sending the required money to Edhi Foundation for many years.

You do realise that needy and poor get meat to consume? The whole purpose of sacrificing an animal is to feed the poor.
