SRINAGAR: Nearly a fortnight after the Army operations were called off in Keran sector, questions have cropped up over what happened during the long intrusion by infiltrators from Pakistan believed to be from its special forces.

The Army operations, which were said to have been stopped on October 8, continued even five days later till a joint team of BSF and Army managed to reach the three border posts located in Shalabhatu, a village divided between Jammu and Kashmir and ******************-Kashmir, official sources say.

Shalabatu village was one of the famous infiltration routes in early 1990s.

A report filed by central as well as state security agencies about the Keran encounter has picked holes in the Army's version of the episode.

However, the Army rejected all doubts expressed over the Keran operation and asserted that the troops on the ground were dominating the line of control (LoC) and regularly approaching their own posts all the time.

The Army's narrative that it killed eight terrorists around the site of infiltration was nailed in the FIRs filed by its units with the local police that said the causalities were reported from three different places that are far off from the Shalabatu village.

The three posts — Khokhri, Kulari and Mangerta — jointly held by the BSF and Army were taken over last Saturday.

In an email reply to questions, the Army Headquarters denied it and said, "This is incorrect. The troops on the ground were dominating the LoC and regularly approaching own posts at all times."

End result is that all infiltrators were killed or sent back. Infiltrators failed yet again. Jammu-Kashmir remains India's. End of story.

I suppose Pakistanis can derive some pleasure by pointing out minor variations in detail. And Indians can derive pleasure from the larger picture, that the infiltration attempt was foiled yet again by our sentinels in the armed forces. A few more Pakistanis fertilizing the soils of Kashmir. Not an inch lost by India.

I must praised Indians for their undaunted support of its terrorist army.

Technically speaking, Indian army always needed foreign help in middle of active wars.

Oh, good.

Every little bit helps, as no doubt the Indian Army found out in the middle of active wars.

I wouldn't dream of being ill-mannered enough to ask which, leave alone pointing out the pristine pure record of other South Asian armies - in 65, for instance, or 71, or in 2002. After all, these exchanges on PDF are great for solving neurasthenia. Why mess up a treatment with facts? The very idea!

Whatever it was.........The end result was killing of swines who tried to infiltrate into India!

Our country has good democratic process there are checks and balances everywhere. We have matured system only politicians are some what out of it for now. The article says they found holes but does not talk about what those holes where. Now what will follow is that some people in Pakistan will create their own theories, just wait to day or so. Mark my words, this has been the trend.
