Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa affirmed on Thursday Pakistan’s support for capacity building of Royal Saudi Land Forces.

The pledge was made in his meeting with Major General Talal Abdullah Al-Otaibi, military adviser to KSA’s defence minister at the GHQ, Rawalpindi.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, the visiting dignitary lauded Pakistan Army’s contributions towards regional peace and stability.

“Matters of mutual interest, regional security and ways to enhance bilateral defence collaboration including training exchange programme were discussed,” the communique added.

The kingdom’s ambassador Nawaz Saeed al Malkiy was also present in the meeting.

The two Muslim countries have doubled down on the strategic military partnership.

Islamabad has reached out to the Middle Eastern state to lend their support for Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue.

Last week, Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed al-Jubeir and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had also visited Islamabad to reassure their support to Pakistan.

The diplomatic mission has remained active ever since New Delhi moved to strip Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) of its autonomy on August 5.

The Indian government has resorted to strong-arm tactics as the siege of the Himalayan valley enters its second month.

The Pakistan Army has resolved that Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein, and would fight to the end for the freedom struggle of its eight million residents.

ummmmm?????? capacity building....Pakistanis in Saudi uniforms?
I am not happy with this idea or am I completely wrong

What's wrong with our government and army. Why are we helping these Arabs? They never stand with us in our hour of need why we helping them build and train their armed forces?
I thought with recent event our policies would have been changed but still we are standing at the same place. We owe our alliance to Islam but they have showed us that Muslim Umah doesn't come near when there are financial benifits. What have done for this ummah with all the wealth in their pockets? They have only played their role in creating sectarian violence in other Muslim countries.
We should really make our policies which benifits us not other. Don't want to hurt anyone feeling.

We are trying to make cold calculated policies in FA matters. No room for knee jerk reactions.
We train their forces, this grants us leverage on them. They pay for it which boosts our foreign reserve. This acts as a tool in our hands when dealing them.
They are giving lips service and awards to Modi and Oil on deferred payment to us.We have shortcomings when dealing our allies,we should remove them rather whining.

arabs? Are you just an illiterate racist, first of all, KSA is not just Arabs, but Saudi Arabians! Saudi Arabia stood always with us in every difficult time, did you forget the 20 billion investment plan, the half-million oversea Pakistanis in KSA, the cheaper Oil prices (and during some decades it was even free) which they gave us

Rather than blaming others first let us put our house in order. If you want others to respect you then establish your self to be respected. Frankly speaking, no one will ever help you if you keep looking for a hand every time.

Sir only advantage Pakistan has of KSA is in terms of monetary benefits however in case of half million overseas Pakistanis, most of them face harsh treatment in KSA, many people from KSA have came back due to heavy taxes imposed there, mostly Arab Kafeels black mail the Pakistani labor force. Such people and their Govt should be ashamed for such brutal acts in Holy land. However on other hand is our so called brother Iran which is always ready to back stab us first they joined hands with India but once due to US pressure India stopped oil purchase from them with other ties now they are willing to connect Chahbahar with Pak-China corridor project. They are such hypocrites, now even they are feeling pain of Kashmiris.

The crux of whole discussion is Pakistan should also squeeze monetary benefits whether it is the case of appointment of Raheel Sharif or future military support. The word brotherly Islamic country should not be used for KSA or Iran.

Yeah except we were visiting them in the very start of this year to get some money?
Let's be choosers when we can run our economy on our own.

This is good. Saudi is a close ally and friend in need. also such military capacity building is paid for. It also helps Pakistan alot in terms of military to military relations and interoperability. We may soon put nukes in saudi if not already, giving us enormous strategic depth.

why doesnt saudi ask india for military help.. they gave him an award? or uae gave him an award?
