Army denies Gen Bajwa, Gen Zubair Hayat met Hussain Nawaz

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army on Wednesday contradicted a news item which it said appeared in a section of media and on social media that Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat met Hussain Nawaz, the son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.


“ The news is absolutely baseless and there is no truth in it,” said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army.

Gen Bajwa became army chief after the retirement of Raheel Sharif on November 29 and was handed over the baton of command at a ceremony in Rawalpindi while Gen Zubair Hayat assumed office as Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee a day earlier

Hahaha couple of days ago I was given couple of negative ratings when I said the corps commanders are not in favor of extension for RS and were busy lobbying for themselves....

What is the relevance of your post to this topic? The reported news of Gen Zubair and Gen Bajwa meeting Hussain Nawaz, was not before selection of COAS and CJCSC, to do lobbying..BUT AFTER they had already been nominated as CJCSC/COAS respectively, it was reported tht they met Hussain Nawaz, which has now been denied by ISPR .. So my friend, its only you who doesnt know or cant handle the truth

The reported news of Gen Zubair and Gen Bajwa meeting Hussain Nawaz, was not before selection of COAS and CJCSC, to do lobbying..BUT AFTER they had already been nominated as CJCSC/COAS respectively, it was reported tht they met Hussain Nawaz, which has now been denied by ISPR .. So my friend, its only you who doesnt know or cant handle the truth

The meeting BEFORE would be for lobbying for the posts and AFTER would be to convey THANKS for being nominated for the posts.

But anyways..your post was..how corps comm were against Gen RS extension, and how they were busy lobbying for themselves....so how was tht related to the topic? The point is unlike Musharraf, RS did not have the support of his corps commanders.

Musharraf was able to enforce a coup from his plane in air while RS could not get the extension with all the lobbying being on the ground.

RS received US medal but Musharraf did not. It is very obvious if one wants to notice.

Yea right.. so u want to say tht Gen RS wanted extension, and his corp commanders didn't allow him? wow... this post is suitable for stupid and funny section..esp, since Gen Raheel Sharif had already announced in January tht he wont take extension... also, if Chief accepts extension, there is nothing Corp comm can do,(Gen Kiyani's example) esp if u have public support..

But then, who am I to argue with you? afterall, you sitting in India, are the relevant authority , and are privy to / have access to all secret things being discussed in corp commanders meetings...

fact is...your/indians' hate for Gen raheel Sharif has clouded your jdugements to even think rationally..and you guys come with all sorts of bs stories, and gossips... first, you guys were saying tht tension on LOC is because, he wants to take extension, or impose Martial Law... you guys were admanant tht he will impose martial law... and when none of tht happened, now to hide your embarrassment, now are coming with even more weird stories,tht corps comm didn't support him, simply ignoring the fact, tht he had denied to take an extension in January.. but I am sure, I cant convince you, because you just want to badmouth him.... but the fact tht his name, is enough to irritate Indians and indian media...makes me admire him more...
