Are we going in economic shock ? IMF doing their job

It’s too early here in Toronto and I will respond in detail later .

Spoken like a true pandoo with no idea of what the issues facing Pakistan are and comparing apple to oranges. I choose not to waste my time replying to your pointless post.

And yet you replied. I actually do know whats going on like so many others I have reached into my bank account to help people in Pakistan with problems as basic as nephrolithiasis who are going into acute renal failure bc the govt hospitals quadrupled their charges for ct scan/cytoscopy and other life saving medical procedures.

The callous disregard you have shows that you are a clueless troll. I have no idea what faith you ascribe to but from your odious comments its far from an Islamic ideology.

Marie Antoinette also told the peasants to eat cake....we all know what her end was and if this govt and all the elites of Pakistan don't wake up there will be mass anger and not even the khalai makhlooq will be able to stop that.

Neither do the 'real' paindus who have no idea how economics or commerce works, especially for a country like Pakistan. People who are posting in support of PTI, still, are either:

1. being paid to do so and are part of their media/social media network.
2. are those who are gullible enough to still believe that the previous Government is responsible for the mess which has been created in the last 12 months.
3. are those who have still not seen practical life and are living off their parents.
4. are living abroad and are impervious to the situation of Pakistanis.

Otherwise, all else, like yourself and I, are aware of ground realities and effects of failed/anti-Pakistani policies of Imran Khan. And I blame Imran Khan for all this, not PTI. He is beginning to look like a true threat to Pakistan, just like people used to say before he came into power.

One can't blame IK for the problems he truly inherited. The governments before him did so little to clean house and the accumulated financial bomb of 30 years of mismanagement has finally come full circle. The issue with IK, like you say, is that he and his team were completely oblivious to the problems they were coming into. They talked a big game but it was all BS that even they didnt believe....crap designed to rile people up and get them into office. Then even after they realized the mess he didn't have any idea what to do and for the last year has wasted time going after the opposition instead of focus like a laser on the economy/trade/education/environment/etc.

If what I say is not true we wouldn't have seen the cabinet reshuffle which was done in the middle of IMF negotiations and at the behest of the GHQ. We also wouldn't have seen the economic security council being formed with top military brass sitting on it.

Like I said what are 220 million people doing? They can set up small coal plants and sell electricity to neighborhoods. This could be a good business with massive room of growth. Why waiting and depending on govt to do everything, especially when the govt is very very poor.

where do you get the coal ?

. .
1. GDP projections are down to 2 % yoY

2. rampant dollar rate hike + interest rate hike has raised prices

3. vehicle prices are now out of reach for middle class. a crappy wagon R is 17 lac after registration

4. just talked to friends in mobilink, telenor, nestle etc. they are laying off and leaning operations

5.lets not even talk about the stock mkt

6. 200 textile mills went on strike today ( it is being dismissed as fake news by PTI club but i HAVE SEEN NO clarification from APTMA yet)

IMRAN KHAN, wtf is going on sir

1. Imran Khan explained in his recent interview that GDP is a way to fool population. What matters is how the GDP is increasing. If i start building jails around Pakistan, GDP will increase to use of cement. But how will that benefit Pakistan? Right now Pakistan is atleast growing in terms of economy, albeit slow but still growing in this dire economic times.

2. Now our economy is off steroids, dollar rate is at its actual. This is good for our exports and economy in general because we won't be using our forex to strengthen rupee like previous government.

3. This is true. Vehicles are a necessity in Pakistan due to horrible public transport system. Government needs to decrease taxes alot for vehicles ranging from 0-1300CC, they also need to do something about this automobile mafia in country. This is where government is miserably failing.

4,5 and 6 are result of rupee depreciating and too much taxes on existing tax base. Government can't do anything about it atm or country will go bankrupt.

Reality is very harsh and different.
Take example of your own statement. Forget price & massive environment impact <e.g. check china this is why they are moving from coal to renewable energy> of coal plants you simply can't install coal plant on every corner of road or block not to forget its main source Coal is imported <trade deficit> local coal has high sulphur.
Its neither financially or physically possible.
Solar Panel would be better option.Although costly some users can afford it specially comparing it with very expensive and non reliable electricity from wapda.
But it will still solve nothing.
Once your dams are dead we will face massive Drought resulting in end of agri sector and what 200+ million will drink water is going down.

No we are not poor every democratic govt. is either idiot or traitor.
Massive loan for what senseless project what benefit we got nothing.
This present idiots will install another turbine in Terbala whose capacity is going down using WB but no to KB Dam. KP will get zero loyalty from it but no problem we will keep installing more and more turbine on Terbala until its a dead dam.
When foreign companies were building medium dams & PM was begging for Dam funds industrialist asked/advised him to make them investor instead of begging charity from them.
And if Federal Govt. is so poort why not it ask provincial govt. to take some financial cost. Its Wrong to get benefit for doing nothing. Not only they demand more money but also causing huge financial and life loss by opposing KB Dam.

Similarly not only north has massive hyder potential. but they still use woods partially for cooking and mostly for heating in winter. other then 1 small dam rest of all hydel project are run on stream result zero electricity from them in winter.

Our economy at present

But Pakistan is going to rebuild.................................................:pakistan::pakistan::pakistan:

. . .

there is no hard data claims on the coal reserves - 185 billion tons
the only thing measurable is the current coal production (2.33 million metric tons)

https://www.worldenergy.org/data/resources/country/pakistan/coal/
Pakistan’s total coal resource is reported as some 185 billion tonnes, within which ‘measured reserves’ are 3.45 billion tonnes, ‘indicated reserves’ nearly 12 billion tonnes, ‘inferred reserves’ 57 billion and ‘hypothetical resources’ 113 billion.

current recoverable coal reserves is stated at 1.45 billion metric tons which is still not a bad amount

You need to increase the import bill then to import solar panels. Here we are talking about already over loaded imports and you are still not satisfied with current import bill.

where do you get the coal ?

Definitely not from @nahtanbob the bharti hiding behind American flag embarrassed to show his own flags.

I don't know how reliable and updated that information really is. However, we are making most of our energy with COAL and it is all mined internally. Further, we are led to believe that the reserves are so massive that we can generate electricity for over 50 years on COAL alone. We have also very recently started a process of liquidizing/gasifying coal within the mine which is a more efficient way to produce electricity.

This is the reason most of our new Power Plants are either Coal based or Nuclear.

pakistan coal production in the upcoming years should settle the debate

Do you even remember what you said earlier????
Like I said what are 220 million people doing? They can set up small coal plants and sell electricity to neighborhoods. This could be a good business with massive room of growth. Why waiting and depending on govt to do everything, especially when the govt is very very poor.

Now back to your post.

Sonal Panel will increase import bill but what about your coal plant???? Solar is one time cost its long term profitable.
Not only your solution is non practical but it will also required huge daily coal import. Neither we have that much money nor we an we can afford to permanent SMOG.
Some can afford it but electricity is getting more & more expensive making solar panel feasible for more users.
But ultimate solution is DAMS. forget electricity water is more precious don't forget Pakistan population is now 200M+.
