Are we going in economic shock ? IMF doing their job

Neither do the 'real' paindus who have no idea how economics or commerce works, especially for a country like Pakistan. People who are posting in support of PTI, still, are either:

1. being paid to do so and are part of their media/social media network.
2. are those who are gullible enough to still believe that the previous Government is responsible for the mess which has been created in the last 12 months.
3. are those who have still not seen practical life and are living off their parents.
4. are living abroad and are impervious to the situation of Pakistanis.

Otherwise, all else, like yourself and I, are aware of ground realities and effects of failed/anti-Pakistani policies of Imran Khan. And I blame Imran Khan for all this, not PTI. He is beginning to look like a true threat to Pakistan, just like people used to say before he came into power.

It’s too early here in Toronto and I will respond in detail later .

Let me tell you what is the basic economic premises of running any business. I learned it in my MBA class that no matter if you are running a small pawn shop or huge corporation short term losses do not matter. Putting sound policies in place for long term growth and profitability is what matters.

Almost every business we start initially runs a loss (unless daddy is subsiding). IK government is doing an outstanding job fixing the basics and putting us on path to a long term and stable growth.

Nawaz idea of growth was mostly consumers spending on luxury imported items and government spending by borrowing. Both an absolute disasters.

Infact Pakistan was the second or third fastest growing consumer market and as fancy as it sounds to those importing luxury goods it was an absolute disaster in the long term. And that’s exactly what happened. Account deficit which was so wide it simply boggles anyone with basic economic sense. Spending so much more and making so little.

During my surgical rotations I routinely saw emergency cases where radical surgical intervention was required to save lives. Surgeons don’t care what damage they do to patient’s Body as long as the life is saved. I have seen limbs removed and body disfigured as long as it served to save lives .

Pakistan is in the same situation. We need to worry about saving life and reconstruction surgery can be done later .

My hats off to IK for having a vision and guts to take decisions that he is taking but he is the only man who can make these decisions and I pray for his success.

And by the way democracy will not be in trouble if unpleasant steps are taken to save economy.

Im assuming you live in Canada. If tomorrow the govt removed your healthcare, doubled your consumption taxes and a lot more you'd be a paindu as well. These politicians don't know the hunger of the average person.

Spoken like a true pandoo with no idea of what the issues facing Pakistan are and comparing apple to oranges. I choose not to waste my time replying to your pointless post.

Why don’t our dairy companies make cheese? Prema is an excellent milk product and i see at-tahur(prema owner company) just have 5 products.

That's what I wanna know. 220 million people and importing borrowing importing borrowing and importing borrowing.

that is not true for all businesses. for some businesses short term losses might be a death knell

Technically we can but at what cost?
Prema was able to charge us Premium price for Fresh non UHT milk because their is almost no competition except anhaar which failed to have any impact on their market share.

But Cheese is different ball game. like UHT milk they would need to be highly competitive not to forget brand loyalty.
even today most customer prefer Prema over Anhaar.

We also need to promote corporate farming because it is the most cost effective solution compared to our present complex non efficient process.

Their is no other way.
Our cost is too high to reduce cost we need to address major cost of industry that is Electricity. 24/7 low cost electricity.
For that you need around half a dozen medium and large dams.
Surplus and cheap electricity will also mean alternative energy for oil and gas.

Even in Northern area which has massive electricity potential. Required imported lng for cooking and woods in winter.

But unfortunately our priorities are else new roads instead of improving old ones, metro bus/train instead of free way<bridge/underpass> for general traffic.

Like I said what are 220 million people doing? They can set up small coal plants and sell electricity to neighborhoods. This could be a good business with massive room of growth. Why waiting and depending on govt to do everything, especially when the govt is very very poor.

What i have gathered here is people are too afraid to put their money into these ventures. Its too risky and most believe they will be looted by the bigger players in the industry. If not that, then any collabration with other partners will also corrupt. People have fear of loosing their money. This is why real estate is the highest form of investment because its safe.

Well, there is risk in doing business, but if you need to improve the future of your country, you have to take these kind of risks. India and Bangladesh has same model of governance and almist same types of business conditions, but look at the businesses there, those people took the risks and look now where they stand vs us.

Start by providing electricity to 1 village or town at cheaper rates than average with uniterrupted supply, and slowly expand from there. Chinese are building cheap and clean coal powered plants, I don't think it will be so hard to get in touch and do the work for yourself for lower price (because no beaurocracy curse involved).

No such thing as small coal plants. And a good thing too. The smaller the plant the worse it is for the environment.

this is the best opportunity for investment

The US energy department has developed it but does not want to implement it. Want's to sell it to developing nations. Guess why. Let me know when they sell some.

The bigger the plant, the more percentage heat they can extract out of it and the more percentage emissions they can extract out of it. More efficient and less polluting.

Go do the research properly before quoting me and trolling, I'm not in a mood of spoonfeeding you.

After retirement, my brother and I told our father to invest in dairy. To produce and deliver milk and all. Some people suggested him to start Solar business as well. He din’t listen to anyone. He said too many corrupt people waiting in line too loot you here. We din’t want further argue because it’s Whole life saved money. Ab banda kya karain. And imagine how many people like him don’t want to invest because of corrupt people here.

I had another idea of producing activewear clothes. We have huge textile industry but that dint pan out either.
