The trade between Arabia and India flourished during the period of early 8th to
the 12th century. A lot of Arab scholars and traders visited South Asia and described
the South Asian civilization of early medieval period.
The historian Malika Mohammada who is the author of the book called "The foundations of the composite culture in India" translated the Arab texts into English.
Here is a summary:
"The Arab scholars who visited early medieval South Asia and returned to Baghdad accepted
in unambiguous terms the superiority of South Asian achievements. Thus the Arab scholar
Al-Jahiz (869 CE) writes: " The Hindus excel in astrology and mathematics. They have developed
to a perfection their arts like sculpture, painting and architecture. They are the inventors of
chess. They make good swords and know all the tricks of fencing. Their music is pleasant
and they have all sorts of dances. From India we received the book called Khalilah-wa-Dimnah.
These people have judgement and are brave. In some virtues they surpass the Chinese"

The Arab scholar Yaquibi (895 CE) observes:" The Hindus are superior to all other nations in
intelligence and thoughtfulness. They are more exact in astronomy and astrology than any
other people. The Brahma Siddhanta is a good proof of their intellectual powers.; by this
book the Greeks and the Persians have also profited"

The Muslim scholar Al-Idrisi (1154 A.D.) says: "The Hindus are by nature inclined to justice and
never depart from it in their actions. Their good faith, honesty and faithfulness to their promises
are well known and they are so famous for these qualities that people flock to their country from
every side."

These are nice things of them to say. Sad how we Hindus and the rest of Indians in general seem to have fallen so much since those days, now we are nothing but a poor corrupt undeveloped piece of $hit. Sad and it hurts...

LOL if they were so advance as claimed in article then why couldnt they name their kind? and country?

Hindu and Hindustan was the name given to them from Muslim who first visited this area for trade. Its a Geographical Definition.

all that contributes to restriction by sea travel in Hindu religion the idea that everything not hindu is dirty and they should stay away from it like in old days hindus were not allowed to cross River Sutluj...so if you dont come to them they will come to you and everyone did

LOL if by mere stating facts n truth

why don't you try to prove it with a proper source

and just so you know there is a hymn in Rig Veda compiled millenniums ago which states

Himalyam Samarabhya
Yavadindusarovaram
Tam Deonirmitam Desham
Hindusthanam Prachakshate

Translation: "The country which starts from Himalayas and the borders of which
reach till the Indian Ocean (Indu Sarovaram), has been created by devas and its
name is Hindusthan."

so we did named our country peace

Do u even know what does Hindustan means n what is the language in which such words r spoken?

The first mention of the word "Hindustan" is in Barhaspatya Samhita of Rig Veda a Hindu religious book which indisputably written in Sanskrit search it on google

Hindu books r not taken as valid sources because if u search history u cant find their substantial validity.

Where as this language yr talking about is already dead in this 21st century.

Let me tell u what this word is n what it means.

Hindustan is the Persian word where Hindu specifically is refereed to people living in the eastern side of river indus. It at its best is a geographical definition. According to it im also a hindu. Rest us-tan means ''sar zameen'' or in English 'Land'.

There is reason why u see central asian states have same names who were part of persian empire once like uzbakistan, tajikistan, kazakistan etc etc.

In old persian language or farsi tan is refereed to land.

If u look at yr neighboring country's name its called Pak-is-tan which means word to word Pure-of- land or land of pure.

The Hind-us-tan means word to word as hindu-for- land or land for hindus.

Names are almost never given by yourself you dhakkan.

E.g. did you gave your self your name.

E.g. do you know what Germans call themselves and what we call them.

Or who named the Americans.

FYI we call our country Bharat. So stop with this stupid rant. And use some brains before using your keyboard.
