Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Sunday visited Parachinar of Kurram Agency to inquire about health of the injured of bomb blast that claimed 25 lives and left many wounded.
The army chief visited the hospital where he met and inquired about health of those injured victims of the blast who are under treatment, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
On the occasion, General Bajwa announced an Army Public School (APS) will be constructed in Parachinar to support education of the local children.
NNI adds: Army chief lauded the support of tribal brethren in combating terrorism and acknowledged their sacrifices for peace.
During his visits to Parachinar, Kurram Agency and Peshawar he was given detailed briefing on Parachinar blast.
Talking to tribal elders of the Kurrum Agency, General Bajwa expressed profound grief on the tragic incident.
“With Your support, Army, Frontier Corps (FC) and other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) have done a great job in stabilizing the area and terrorists will fail to derail it,” he said, lauding their efforts in maintaining tribal and sectarian harmony which is source of national integration.
He said that Pakistan belongs to all of us without any religious, provincial, tribal, linguistic, ethnic, sectarian or any other discrimination.
On demand from people, the COAS announced establishment of an Army Public School (APS) at Parachinar for quality education. Tribal elders thanked COAS for sharing their sorrow and announcement of APS. They pledged to continue supporting efforts for enduring peace and stability.
Later, the COAS also visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar and met critical injured of Parachinar blast who were evacuated by Army helicopters and vehicles on Saturday.
Earlier on arrival at Parachinar, the COAS was received by Lieutenant General Nazir Ahmed Butt, Commander, Peshawar Corps.
