Apple to launch new iPhone, iPad in March

Apple Inc (AAPL.O) is on target to introduce its next iPhone and iPad models on March 15, and aims to start selling the devices in the same week, technology blog 9to5Mac reported, citing sources.

Apple, which will introduce a new 4-inch iPhone, dubbed the “iPhone 5se”, and a new iPad Air at a launch event, is unlikely to take pre-orders for the new devices, the blog reported.

The technology giant has hit a trough in iPhone demand. The 0.4 percent rise in shipments in the fiscal first quarter was the slowest-ever increase in iPhone sales since the phone was launched in 2007.

The new 4-inch iPhone 5se is designed to spur iPhone hardware upgrades for customer seeking faster devices without upgrading to the far larger iPhone 6s and 6s Plus screen sizes.

In the computing world once a market is established it is almost impossible to replace it, PC is a prime example for this.

The multi touch technology, Apple invented and introduced it to the smart phones, they have it patented meaning other smart phones companies cannot replicate it straight out, they have to do complex and round about calculations to achieve the same result meaning more hardware usage and potential more lag.

Apple introduced the modern smart phone to the world, they are not going anywhere.

Apple to launch smaller phone and iPad Air 3 soon after March event
The company will break with tradition and launch the devices just a couple of days after they are released, without offering pre-orders, according to a new report

The release date of the new, smaller iPhone has been revealed.

The iPhone 5se and the new iPad Air 3 are both scheduled to be released on 18 March, according to a new report.

That puts the release of the small phone just three days after its expected launch date, at an Apple event on 15 March. Apple usually waits a week or more before actually putting its phones on sale, but appears to be breaking with tradition to launch the new devices almost instantly.



Apple has been working hard to get the devices ready since January, according to 9to5mac, which first reported the rumoured release date.

The smaller iPhone 5se is expected to feature an external case with a design very similar to the iPhone 5s. But inside it will feature many of the updates that came through with the iPhone 6 and 6s, including faster processors and a new camera.

The new, smaller phone is thought to be Apple’s way of encouraging people who want the smaller-sized phone to upgrade to the latest technologies. It will allow Apple’s entire line to have its technologies, like Apple Pay.
