What are they doing there ?

If there is weed - you will find Israelis. Goa, Manali, parts of Uttarakhand, places like Pushkar in Rajasthan. They seek solace I guess. I've had a fight with a few of them in Goa because some of them are real jerks. Not all are psychotic - but a sizeable number of them are crazy. Mostly young kids fresh out of military training.

The Chabad House in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

As many as 150 Israelis gather there for ceremonies at one time.

You will see sea of Israelis in Uttarakhand, Its heaven on earth. Its north state bordering China.

I noticed Delhi is more like Lahore in terms of trying to adopt western culture ranging from attire to accent and other behaviours though it terms out to be lame copycat. same is the situation with our Lahore.

This Might be True But I guess it is More of a North Culture .. People of North Especially Punjabis ..Sorry To Say But are a Bit Arrogant and Are Always Trying to be Wannabes.. Im Not Labelling All Punjabis to be Bad or Like that ..But I have Observed it many Times

Whereas people in TN are natural and are more confident in themselves than the wannabes in delhi.

and the most laughable thing which i have noticed just like in our own country too that these naudoltyas (wannabes) mostly ladies come to Chennai for cheap purchases though they still look down upon south indians.

What are they doing there ?

Once Israelis finish their compulsory military service, about 30,000 of them come to India every year. They backpack and go to Goa, Himachal Pradesh(hills) or a few other popular addas. They get wasted on drugs (mostly, not all), party like crazy and when they run out of money they go back.

It's a positive thing for us because these places where they stay are like a mini-foreign country. Awesome cafes where u can get Israeli food and all international food real cheap and good, also very good accommodation. These guys survive on like 200-300 rs/day.

They have conscription remember? So once they finish their training, they take a year off. Given how broke they are - India is a cheap alternative to backpacking across than Europe. It is also relatively safe because Jews are not hated here.

They basically find a quiet place and wreck havoc there. There was a case in Dharamshala of them creating a ruckus at a hotel which was owned by an Indian and his German wife. They called the German lady a Nazi for not putting up with their behavior! I've personally witnessed some crazy behavior even in Jaisalmer.

Punjabi's only constitute 5-6% of Delhi population. They are not arrogant or anything, Jana is not alien to Punjabi's, Yes its not soft spoken language.

Many of them settle in Himachal and set up their own 'farming', if you know what I mean.

Many Israeli's go to Himachal Pradesh and loads and loads in Goa



Basically Back packer's after national service.... all roads lead to India and South East Aisa. Myself I went to South East Asia.....stopped in Mumbai on the return leg. Loooooong time ago this was.

I have been kind of all over India and would like to visit Pakistan....but that's not going to happen any time soon.

Personally I found that Southern India is much cleaner the standard of Hygiene is high in Public places..... dont need to muster up tremendous courage going to a normal toilet for example. Normally very simple but clean.
